This is Sreedhar Saraswathi (81055 22***). I applied for Airtel Broadband through one Mr. Ravindra (9731722***). He promptly came to my residence on 2nd Aug and took the application along with a cheque for Rs.3897 for 3 months subscription of Rs.1299 plan (2 mbps). He promised me that the connection will be given in 4 days maximum.

I kept on following with him on regular basis for the status of my application (TBLR0145734). He promised that it will be done by max Thursday (5th Aug) evening by 6pm as the work order is processed on Thursday morning. BTW my home has complete wiring done by Airtel for the previous tenant.

To my surprise when I called him on Thursday evening at about 6:30pm he asked me to talk to his manager Mr Naresh (9880844150). When I called Mr. Naresh, he says "Ravindra is a sales guy he may not know the technicality, the issue is we don't have slots available now. We can only give you when the slots are vacated by someone. When I insisted that this was not informed to me when taking the application he says " This is all we can do if you want we can refund your money which will take 15 days as the cheque has already been submitted"

This is shear malpractice from Airtel dealers as knowing that the slots are not available the took my application and gave false promises about work order etc. and ultimately left me helpless. I felt this is highly unethical.

Tried complaining to Airtel, the call center person asked me to write to 121@airtel.in. I wrote all the details of my existing mobile plan issue along with this issue. I got an email saying that I have to write to 121@airtelindia.in. I forwarded the same email to them too.

I have seen exactly similar practice by another vendor of Airtel Broadband at <http://www.consumercourtforum.in/f40/airtel-broadband-connection-bangalore-11576/>

Please advice what should be my further course of action.

Best Regards,
Sreedhar.
