Hi,
I signed up for an airtel broadband plan in February 2010. Mr. Rajesh Mishra is the name of the Airtel salesman who sold me a 399 plan, claiming it to be a unlimited plan. He said that it was some special offer for our society during that period. I repeatedly, questioned & verified with him to make sure that this was a unlimited plan. And he confirmed the same.
After having used it for a month, to my surprise i saw that my bill shot up to 2500 INR (may not be the exact bill amount)
After this incident i have written emails to customer care, made multiple calls but no solution was given. I got a call from customer care, apologising for the same, and suggested me to migrate to the 699 plan. I agreed. Couple of days later i get call from them again saying that i cannot migrate to the 699 unlimited plan, for the next 3 months.
At this point i have asked them to disconnect my connection, and mentioned that i would only pay 399 and have it disconneted. No one came to disconnet my connection, instead Airtel chose to send me bills for the consecutive 2 months.
And finally legal notices / and payment collection calls !
At the time of sale, Airtel is ready to anything. They hire any unethical sales person (like Rajesh Mishra here) who will say anything to make a sale, beacuse it is a month end and they have to meet their targets. They will come home / call you proactively to fill the form and take the first payment.
But after you face an issue there is no one you can catch hold of !! In case of phone - customer care it is people who dont understand the problem & are incapable of resolving the issue, and in case of emails - customer care, all you get is automated replies mentiong a case id.
This complaint is against Rajesh Mishra & Airtel, for having used wrong information to make a sale, and doing nothing about it.
Abhishek Rout
