This is in reference to the discussion held with Mr. Sujan Chakraborty – Consumer Welfare Officer on 08th July’10.
I have purchased an Airtel Data Card wireless internet device on 30th April' 2010 from M/s. Gati Communication based at P-4A, CIT Road, Entally, Park Circus, Kolkata-700014. The Data Card Sim No: 89913100000074618718 and Data Card EMEI No: 910002470291266 vide Airtel Mobile No: 9831167917. Please note from the day I have purchased this data card (wireless internet device) it is not working. Whenever it is plugged in to my laptop it keeps on showing a message “Searching Network” and never gets connected when out of Kolkata. I use this only on tour hence it needs to work outside or else it is of no use to me. I have lodge in my 1st complain after 2-3 days of my purchase when I first time faced this problem. I was informed that problem will be solved but nothing has happened till date. I kept on receiving calls from Airtel but problem is not solved yet. I was on official tour and on roaming when I was attending calls from them to get helped as I was stucked in and cannot work. I have invested Rs. 2500/- (Rs. 2200/- on device and Rs. 300/- as security deposit) vide money receipt no: 809 and 810 respectively received from M/s. Gati Communication.
My most recent complain no: 32349115 dt: 18th June’10. When I had called them up on 21st June'10 to get the status of my complain; on that time they confirmed me that my problem will be solved by 28th June'10 (as spoken to Mr. Rahul) but till date nothing had happened. During lodging my very first complain I have clearly informed them that till the time my problem is not solved I am not going to pay bills since I have not used it at all. They gave me assurance that problem will be solved but nothing has happened as informed above. I have spoken many of the times to Airtel Customer Care Phone No: 9831717070 and every time I get a standard reply that my problem will be solved. Today on 06th July’10 morning when I again gave a call to them for the feedback they were pressurizing me indirectly to pay bills and stated very clearly that your no: has been barred. Till the time it is not unbarred they are unable to do anything. I don’t understand as to why I shall pay the bill if I haven’t used the services yet. This entire episode has lead to lot of stress and waste of money and also loss in my business. I am no more interested in keeping this and look forward for return of money that I have spent.
