To start with, I am now a very very disappointed customer of Airtel Broadband because Airtel has done injustice to me.
No, I am not talking about the technical support etc. I am talking about the billing system of Airtel. I was using Airtel Broadband for over a year until in May 2010, I called up the Airtel call center and requested them to cancel my account (interaction ID 133925008). They did so. I also sent mails to 121@airtel.in to cancel my account. After that, I called the call center again a couple of times more to verify if they have really closed my account. They said they had canceled my account. I asked them if I should go surrender the account in the nearest Airtel store in person and the call center executive said that there is no need to do this as my account has already been canceled. I was still getting bills from Airtel every month after that, when I finally went to the Airtel store at Tonk road and met the customer care executive. He asked me to fill up a complaint form which I filled up and signed. He assured me that everything will be okay and that I will not have to pay the Airtel bills post June 2010. I asked him for the N.O.C. but he said the N.O.C. shall be provided in the first week of September 2010. On 26 Aug 2010, I got a call from the court that Airtel has filed a case against me for non-payment of the bills of past months amounting to Rs 1,743 and that if I do not submit the bills within that day, then the court will penalize me with a sum of Rs 25,000. I immediately rushed to the Airtel store at Tonk road and discussed this matter with the customer executive but they did not listen to me and asked me to Submit Rs 1500 so that they can close the case permanently. I asked them why should I pay for the bills when I have already canceled my account on May 2010. They argued that if I do not pay then they will take legal action against me, I paid Rs 1500 at their cash counter and issued an N.O.C. The amount is not a big deal but they way they fool their customers is just not acceptable. Those people are lame, their customer care service are lame and the people in their billing department are just morons. They do not know what they are talking about and are not aware of the company rules and regulations. Imagine what did they gained after all this? Just 1500 bucks? But now imagine what did they loose: - A customer - A customer's faith in Airtel. - Airtel's goodwill So guys, be very careful when surrendering any of your Airtel services and DO NOT depend on the call center executives as they are hired idiots. Go to the Airtel store, clear all your bills and get an N.O.C. |
