I am producing below copy of an email sent to Tata Indicom -

Please refer to subject Account No.976372790 , where your representative Mr.Sanjay Singh persuaded me to go for a trial service of 1 month free services of Tata Broadband free internet services and if subsequently satisfied with the services, then go for a proper plan.

Much against my own interest, I went for the free plan around 14th November 2009 and we experienced some internet service on a very low speed which we never used as I have a full plan with other provider and again your services were found disconnected around 1st week of december 09.

I did not care to complain or seek any assistance as I was not at all satisfied with the speed or services.
Much to my shock , I received a bill in january calling for payment of Rs.441 and again in february for Rs.981 and finally this month for Rs.1521.

This is terrible on the part of your company and here I have to add that I have had similar bitter experience few years back when I had gone for your telephone services.

I would like to state that I have all the documents right from day one for this particular internet servives offered free for a one month period, which never was the case for more than 15 days and this too we have not used it more than a few days.

Now to be receiving bills for this is amounting to harassment and mental agony and I request you to kindly stop this with immediate effect and have this bills written off and a letter to me.

I will appreciate that I receive a prompt reply and a confirmation that you have written off the payments unjustly called for and that I wont be receiving any such letters again.

I look forward to your immediate and urgent action and confirmations.

Against this mail, I received an assurance that they will look into it and do the needful but after a while again sent me a response that I will have to make the payment as I had not informed them about my dis-interest and dis-continuation of the service which is a blatant lie as I had strongly confirmed that I would not be interested at all way back in December 2009 itself.

Subsequently I once again responded with another reply which I am pasting below -

There is no question of any payments to be made at all as I had already confirmed them on phone, when they enquired with me about continuing of the services around 1st week of December 2009.

You are advised to do the needful in taking away the gadgets immediately and issue me a letter to the effect that the services are discontinued and that there are no payments to be made as I was coaxed into trying your free services by Mr.Sanjay Singh.

In the event I am called for any payment even from here on, I would seek prompt assistance from the consumer forum and claim due compensations for the awful services and harassments to follow.

You are called to take necssary steps.

Finally I would like to state that such services are just intended to trap the least interested people to falling for the free offer and then strangle them with some kind of billing which keeps adding on.

I will request that the highly respected forum take prompt and immediate action against the service provider and let me have relief.
