    Question tata indicom( tata photon plus)

    Dear,
    Sir/madam,
    On 19-august-2010 I bought the Tata Photon+ broadband service with the plan HISA 5gb @ 950 capping plan( unlimited)and a reduction of Rs. 200 every month because the modem was free of cost and i would be paying Rs.2500 at the starting. I called up the customer care last week to inquire about it and they informed me that you will get 3.1 Mbps download speed and 1.8 Mbps upload speed which is mentioned in the brochure as well. What they didn't mention is about the contention ratio which is 1:20 and the speed will decrease after 5 gb download. I'll come to the details of it. Anyways, after paying 2500 , I got my instrument and the guy who deliver the instrument told me that you will never get 3.1 mbps speed, because they have mentioned UPTO 3.1 Mbps, which means the speed can go upto 3.1 Mbps (which I believe will never occur). I plugged the instrument to mydesktop to test the connectivity and speed and to my utmost surprise I found that the download speed is merely 157 Kbps.... What a joke !!!! . After that I surfed for 3 hours and never found the speed touching the 3 digits, it oscillated between 40 to 50 kbps. Next day when I started surfing, I found the speed is even more pathetic, hardly some 15-20 Kbps, couple of times I received Network connection error while opening gmail, reason being terribly slow internet connection, I tried visiting the tata indicom website (Tata Indicom), even that is too slow that the half of the images didn't download, couple of scripts and stylesheet didn't run properly. finally I decided, lets try the speedometer which would give me the exact download speed, for those who do not know what it is, Speedometer is the Tata Indicom Download Page (TATA Indicom Download Page...). The tower is in Turbhe, Mumbai and there are 6 files available (5Mb, 10Mb, 50Mb, 100Mb, 200Mb, 500Mb) on the webpage, you can simply click on any file which triggers the download and you can clearly see the speed. I thought, lets try the 50 Mb one, when I clicked on it, I saw it's getting downloaded at a speed of 25-30 Kbps, when I tried out the big one (500Mb), the download speed is 10-20 Kbps. Which clearly indicates how they haved cheated me, and millions of other customers. So i called customer care and posted a complain ( complain no. 233356405) and they promised to solve the problem within the next day. On next day an engineer came and tried everything but can’t succeed. So he promised to come again but didn’t came. So i called customer care again and they asked me to have patience. After that some one from the network team( Hyderabad) called and informed me that the case had been closed. So i posted another complain ( complain no. 233492885) and told them about my problem. They informed me that i should get a speed of 400-500 kbps after downloading 5 gb. Next an engineer came from the network team and tried everything . but invain. So he called his higher authority ( Hyderabad) and after hanging for an hour they informed that there is no such plan. And the plan actually says that you will get only 20 kbps downloading speed after 5gb download . What a joke!!!!!! After 6 days of harrasment they informed that way. And neither the sales man nor even the engineer or the network team or the customer care agents knew the plan untill and unless my problem occured.!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you imagine!!! But every body of these people promise again and again to give me the promised speed(3.1 Mbps upto 5 gb download and 400 to 6oo kbps after it.) without knowing the actual plan.I got so irritated that I decided to lodge a complaint ( no. 233698111) and they promised again to solve the problem taking the names and number of everyone i talked with regarding this matter. After this, some one called me and asked me to change the plan. What is this????? I posted a complain again and claim my money back or give me the promised speed!! (no. 234124879) . now they are calling me and telling me that they have nothing to do and i have to choose another plan And misguided me by giving wrong phone number of their service centres which actually are not present in real. So i decide to post a complain on cosumer forum on today itself. I want to make people aware of the following stuff:
    Ater giving wrong information during and after selling the product, i also want my money back and give them the desire punishment for misguiding the customers without informing or knowing about the plan actually. So, the decision is yours, what would you call this? Cheating... Frogery... Dishonesty... Dacoity?I know Government can not do anything, because they are getting richer by the tax paid by Tata Indicom, but where from this money is coming??? It's the common men's money, it's the money of those who blindly relied on Photon+ and getting their reward. So can anyone suggest what should I do? Can I get my money back? I also have the screenshot of download speed from speedometer website, I was thinking of sending this copy to Times Of India and Ananda Bajar Patrika and let them publish it on the front page and make people aware of the robbery.

    i have purchased TATA photon plus on 26 Oct 2010 .They promised the download speed of 3.1 mbps .after complaining an engineer came and informed that with unlimited plan the speed will never go beyond 18-20 kbps.He told in case you want to increase the speed you should not go for unlimited plan.this is straight forward cheating,broad daylight dacoiting and TATA indicom should be ashamed of cheating the customer.TATA used to be a name for transperancy integrity and high value which Jamsetji,J.R.D had carefully nurtured it but unfortunately the present management is no better than thieves they should beashamed of their deeds.

    The issue of speed has come up again!!

    Would like to highlight few things..
    1). A telecaller calls from Tata teleservices and explians the
    lucrative scheme and SPEED of Photon +
    2). Executives comes and issues a new connection with instant activation
    3). On 3rd day of activation, the connection gets barred as the
    required documents were not submitted by the dealer or franchisee on
    time, whereas the required docs were taken from me at the time of
    activation only(1st Oct'2010)
    4) After 2-3 days the connection gets unbarred
    5) 7th day the speed comes down by 90%
    6) On complaint i have been asked to wait till november end for a
    better speed(1.5 months)
    7) When nothing happens till 9th Dec'2010 , I complained again
    8) now the interesting part comes.......... I been told that my plan
    is capped with
    5GB
    9) Now I haven't used even 1 GB and my speed is worst that PATHETIC!!!!

    So, I don't want any more apologies and assurance, just final request
    to deactivate my connection as soon as possible.
    Would deeply appreciate if I can get any refund of my Photon + device!!

    Above mentioned statement is very very true and that can be cross
    verified in your systems(if they aren't running on PHOTON+)

    So this is the record I have from 7th Oct,2010 till 9th Apr,2011.
    I even asked to disconnect my connection in 8th Apr complaint, but nobody is even regretting or responding!!
    The complaint numbers and photon+ number can be retrieved from the conversation itself.

    Plnning to switch to Reliance netconnect or MTS!!
