Default Tata photon+ refund complaint

Dear Sir,

My name is sufi, i am the cx of tata photon+. when i purchased this device i was told that i will be getting 3.1 mbps speed but now i am getting the downloading speed only 10 to 20 kbps.
I am very frustrated about this as i am paying 800 rs p/m. i have called the customer care many times but their response is we will send our technician and they came twice to my place done all the things but still i am getting the same speed i am helpless.

Customer care representatives they use to hung up the call on me when i say them to transfer my call to supervisor, even i spoke to the supervisors and finally asked for the refund she hung up on me, please i need a refund so that i can go for any other service.

Please help me to get my money back.

Dear Sir / Madam,

I Neeraj Malhotra had applied for a TATA Photon + on 14th May 2010 vide customer application no 3104168.

The Dealer Code who handed over the Photon + is MHF309. On handing over the photon data card, the same started functioning immediately and was operational till 16th May.

I travelled to Ahmedabad on 17th May and was surprised to find that the Photon card was showing differenet error nos on connecting. I called up your service centre of 17th May but was not provided any reply to my call.

I returned back on 21st May and called up around 10am, your customer care and was told to uninstall and reinstall the data card, which i did but there was no positive result. However your executive confirmed that technical person would come and resolve the issue on the same day.

I again called back at 5pm on the same day and was informed that the inspection report was negative. They had claimed that during visit to my residence my wife had said that we had not applied for photon +. Here i fail to understand why would she refuse after we have paid cash for the data card on delivery. Customer care executive assured that another executive would come and visit and do inspection again within 24hrs.

During my call on 22nd May, i was surprised to note that my mobile no with them was wrongly mentioned which i got changed from 9833113716 to 9833113710.

Finally i had to visit TATA gallery at Vashi for the complaint and to my surprise i found that the address was wrongly mentioned as V-12 instead of U-12, which was mentioned on the form. Here you can understand that the concerned executive for inspection would have gone to other address where but naturally he would have been told that they have not applied for it. Your call centre claim that he met Mrs Malhotra is also false as on visit to V-12 ( wrong address ) a lady would have addressed him and he would logically term her as Mrs Malhotra.

My Complaint No is 221252925.

I am on a tour from 23rd may till 3rd june and would be handicapped without the data card during this period as our entire family is out of station.

I would request you to start my services till 3rd june, someone can visit on 24th May or 25th May for verification as i have asked my mother to be there during the day at the residence. Incase no one can visit during these 2 days, i would request you to kindly activate my services and send your executive after 3rd June.

Its a humble request from a Customer who wants to use your services ( as TATA ).

Now post my visit to gallery at Andheri west on 3rd June 2010.




My case goes back to 14th May 2010. I have written to you on 23rd May 2010.

Sorry to state that inspite of my visit to yr Andheri west on 3rd June 2010( Lokhnadwala) gallery where I met the Manager Manmeet Singh Sandhu who assured me that the services will be activated by 1pm on 4th June 2010, nothing positive has been done.

I assume that TATA cheats the consumers by just passing the buck from one department to another.

On my call to yr call center Today 4th June at 4.15pm, i am agian being assured of inspection visit by today itself from Sameer Uttekar ( an employee of TATA ).

I personally think that you are NOT AT ALL CUSTOMER FRIENDLY, and are disreputing the name of TATA through your response.

Incase my Photon card does not get activated by today, I would be compelled to take the matter to consumer court and claim refund of the mental agony alongwith the price of the data card.

I would say that TATA has the most pathetic service and would just tell all consumers that pls pls pls not to go for TATA services.

They are very good at selling and in service we could rate them at -100.

Default TATA Photon+ .... A Nightmare, Poor Performance, Cheating People

Sirs,

Yesterday (4-Jul-2010) I bought the Tata Photon+ broadband () service. I called up the customer care last week to inquire about it and they informed me that you will get 3.1 Mbps download speed and 1.8 Mbps upload speed which is mentioned in the brochure as well. What they didn't mention is about the contention ratio which is 1:20. I'll come come to the details of it. Anyways, after paying 2290/- , I got my instrument and the guy who came to my place to deliver the instrument told me that you will never get 3.1 mbps speed, because they have mentioned UPTO 3.1 Mbps, which means the speed can go upto 3.1 Mbps (which I believe will never occur). I plugged the instrument to my laptop to test the connectivity and speed and to my utmost surprise I found that the download speed is merely 57 Kbps.... What a joke !!!! I showed the screen to the guy and he told me sometimes you will get high speed and insisted me to sign on the papers stating that I got my device so that his job is done and that he can leave. After that I surfed for 3 hours and never found the speed touching the 3 digits, it oscillated between 40 to 50 kbps. Next day when I started surfing, I found the speed is even more pathetic, hardly some 15-20 Kbps, couple of times I received Network connection error while opening yahoo mail, reason being terribly slow internet connection, I tried visiting the tata indicom website (Tata Indicom), even that is too slow that the half of the images didn't download, couple of scripts and stylesheet didn't run properly (being a S/W engineer I'm pretty much aware of these stuff). finally I decided, lets try the speedometer which would give me the exact download speed, for those who do not know what it is, Speedometer is the Tata Indicom Download Page (TATA Indicom Download Page...). The tower is in Turbhe, Mumbai and there are 6 files available (5Mb, 10Mb, 50Mb, 100Mb, 200Mb, 500Mb) on the webpage, you can simply click on any file which triggers the download and you can clearly see the speed. I thought, lets try the 50 Mb one, when I clicked on it, I saw it's getting downloaded at a speed of 25-30 Kbps, when I tried out the big one (500Mb), the download speed is 29-32.3 Kbps. Which clearly indicates how they haved cheated me, and millions of other customers. I got so irritated that I decided to lodge a complaint on cosumer forum on today itself. I want to make people aware of the following stuff:
Tata claims the download speed for photon+ is 3.1 Mbps, however, the contention ratio is 1:20. there lies the story, it means the bandwidth that is assigned to you will be shared by 19 other people as well. That means, the speed 3.1 Mbps will be divided among a total of 20 people, i.e., you will get a download speed of 3.1 / 20 Mbps = 158.72 Kbps. Now it is very unlikely that all these 20 people will be logged in simultaneously, so even if i consider 5 people logged on, i.e., 5 parallel connection, so I am going to get 3.1 / 5 Mbps = 634 Kbps. However, I am getting only 25-30 Kbps which is much lower than the lowest limit (158.72 Kbps). I am residing in Mumbai, near Powai, and being a financial hub, they can not give the lame excuse of signal congestion, unavailability of towers, blah blah blah. Well, I assume I will not get 3.1 Mbps (because as per the sales person it is UPTO 3.1 Mbps), so lets consider the download speed is 1 Mbps (1 Mbps = 1024 Kbps), so in that case also I should get 1 Mbps / 20 = 51.2 Kbps, but I'm getting only 25 Kbps. So, the decision is yours, what would you call this? Cheating... Frogery... Dishonesty... Dacoity? I know there are few customers who are perhaps getting a decent speed, but I can bet even their speed can not reach 1 Mbps. I know Government can not do anything, because they are getting richer by the tax paid by Tata Indicom, but where from this money is coming??? It's the common men's money, it's the money of those who blindly relied on Photon+ and getting their reward. I think these guys should be hanged till death who just take everything for granted. So can anyone suggest what should I do? Can I get my money back? I also have the screenshot of download speed from speedometer website and video footage of the same, I was thinking of sending this copy to Times Of India and Mumbai Mirror and let them publish it on the front page and make people aware of the robbery.

Dear Sir,
I(Hemanth Kumar Nigam) had purchased tata photon+ and got it installed on 19th august of this year(2010)... I purchased your product because of its high speed... but when i observed the speed, to my surprise, its ranging between just 5-15kbps and sometimes even worse... this is getting me really frustrated and if this continues, i will have to go for any other product... So i kindly request your authorities to look over my problem and fix it as soon as possible...

Unhappy Idea 3g net setter - 8140141216

Sir,

1. I purchased newly launched Idea 3G net setter on 14 Aug 10.(No-8140141216) for Rs 2000/- and recharged for Rs 600/- for one month un-limited internet downloading scheme.

2. I purchased the product because of its high speed... but when i observed the speed, to my surprise, its ranging between just 1-10kbps and sometimes even worse...(It goes in Bps). This is getting me really frustrated. It takes nearly one hour to open of yahoo page.

3. I lodged four complain to idea cust.care on line complain regarding the speed. They write me back that by 25th Aug every thing will be alright. But the situation is same and very pathetic.Calls recieved from cust care on every complain in my mobile that your complain forwarded. I can't under stand to whom they forwarded the complain and what is the course of action.

4. So, I kindly request your authorities to look over my problem and sought it out at ealiest.

Question Problem

I recently bought a tata photon plus this month because of its high speed. When i used it first the first time the download speed was around 20-50kbps and sometimes 100kbps. It was quite okay until i rechared it with a Rs 700 voucher for unlimited internet and when i used it, its download speed was around 5-18kbps and at first when i used it watching videos on youtube was quite okay but now it needs around 5 mins to buffer please help me solve my problem.
