Angry Tikona Broadband - Terrible experience

I havent been given an installation of Tikona Broadband yet and already i have been through hell trying to deal with them.

On 14th Jan I contacted Tikona with an interest in subscribing to their broadband service. I was told a rep would be sent within 48 hrs.

To my surprise a rep arrived that evening itself. I assumed this was a good sign. Apparently this diligence in service only lasts as long as money is to be received from the customer.

Mr. Shugriv ( Phone number is available with me and i will post it if requested ) showed us details of tikona's plans and subscription rates. When i inquired about the demo. He informed me thrice that tikona has stopped giving demos as a company policy.

He further went on to inform me that the only way to get an installation was to pay the full amount for the plan ( which was 2205 ) He charged additional 45Rs saying that the vouchers can only be made to round figures and that Rs. 45 would be credited to my account. I made the payment and filled the form, for which i am holding the receipt.

    ( Recepit Details : App no - 50000019440058, Date - 14/01/12, sales exec Id : 500004798 )

I was informed by Mr. Shugriv that installation would be done in 48 hours. He also told me that he would try to get it done in 24 hrs.

15 jan - I made a call to Mr. Shugriv - he informed me installation was not possible since there were no engineers available. I accepted since it was only 24 hrs. I received my password.
16 jan - I made a call to Mr. Shugriv - who assured me installation would be done by 3 / 4 Pm since his engineer was close to my residence.
16 Jan - 5PM - I made a call to Mr. Shugriv who did not respond to my call.
16 Jan - 5:30 PM - I made a call to Tikona customer care, who told me they had only opened my account on 15th morning and so 48 hrs were not complete yet. When i told them this was their fault, I was told, " Were trying ". When i told them i would like to register an official complaint, their response was " fine "
16 Jan - I wrote an e-mail to their customer care dept detailing my issue and cced it to their nodal officer
17 Jan - 12 PM I called Mr. Shugriv again who said he would call me back in 5 mins and hasnt called yet ( Its 3 PM now )
17 Jan - I called customer care, who now informed me there is some problem where they are unable to process any applications received from 15th ( even though i made my application on 14th ). I lost my temper and demanded the customer care rep to either install the service or refund my money ASAP. He hung up on me. ( amazing! )
17 Jan - no email response, no customer care response, no installation and you guys wont even pick up my calls.

Tikona - you are one of three things a) Incompetent b) Frauds c)Both.

Your person lied to me regarding the availability of demons to get me to pay the full amount knowing fully well that he would be unable to guarantee quick installation. Your customer care reps cant be bothered to give a useful or even concerned answer and your senior officer has not bothered to reply to a fairly detailed and polite e-mail.

I am making the same request here. Either you install my connection within 24 hrs or give me a full refund within 24 hrs. Failing which i will take legal recourse.

    Regards,

    Ram

    Update :

An engineer did arrive at my residence this evening.

At first it was difficult to get network connectivity. Eventually we did find connectivity from one of my balconies. At this point he did not have a working ID he could log on from and show me the speed of the connection.

When i asked him to demonstrate using the ID allocated to me, he told me if we log on using that ID, i would not get a refund. ( Which is surprising. I would be interested in knowing if this is company policy ). Eventually he informed me that his network center told him that the network was not strong enough and thus he would not be able to complete the installation.

I refused to sign the satisfactory completion clause on his work-order. He informed me that the sales person should have given a demo.

I request a prompt refund of my money Rs. 2250.

Since i was given no demo at the start under false pretexts.

    Regards
