Exclamation Complete disregard for customer by Dell Inc.

I bought a Dell Inspiron 1564 laptop, for around 45 thousand Rupees. 2 months after the purchase, Windows 7 crashed, and Dell has till date not been able to figure out the reason. I contacted Dell Technical Support, and they told me I ned to replace my Hard drive. They sent a Service Provider (DSP) and he replaced my hard drive, after which the attempt to install Windows 7 was still unsuccessful. Then they said there is a problem with the reinstallation DVD, and sent me a new one of that. I tried to install it today, and was still unsuccessful, as it gets stuck at the "Expanding Windows Files" stage.

After having gone through hell for 10 days without a working laptop, I contacted Dell again and re-reported my problem. Now they want to send another Hard Drive and another set of RAM's for the laptop. They ran diagnostics on my computer with the DSP, as well as asking me to do it, and it showed absolutely no error in the hardware. Then why are these people going around replacing perfectly functional hardware, when its obviously a software problem?

I got frustrated, and talked to the supervisor, who said they would send across a brand new system to replace this one. It would take 25 days more. He said it in such a tone, as to tell me that they are doing me some sort of big favour by doing this. He made it ample clear that my warranty does not include complete replacement. But if the system has crashed, and you don't know why, or even how to repair it. then the LEAST you can do is replace my system. Its not a favour to give me something I already paid for. And when I asked them for compensation for the 10 days that I couldn't use the laptop, and for the fact that I won't be able to for the next 25 days, he said Dell does not provide compensation. So I can't use something I paid for, for over 1 month, for their fault, and I don't get any compensation?

I want to take this to the consumer court in Pune. If anyone has any advice, please forward the same to me. It would be very useful in getting some compensation from this unreasonable company. I am certain that this is the last time I make any purchase from Dell.

For technical correctness, the unit was purchased on 2nd April, 2010, and the problems started ocuring around June 1st. All general timings are relative to the same.

I have seen that site before. They ask for money to be sent in cash in a letter, and then say that the smallest mistake on our part will mean that they don't try the case. It seems like a bogus act to me.
