    Default HCL Laptop customer service very poor

    This is no surprise from an Indian company. My laptop optical drive is not working. As my laptop is still under warranty (less than six months old), thought to ring the supposedly 24x7 customer care number 1860 1800 425 which is written on the sticker on the laptop. Surprise....number is busy.... no hold message, no IVR menu, simply it says number is busy and then my mobile says "CALL FAILED". Next I checked your website and got another number....0120 2406105. Tried that number and this time I got no message, simply disconnect.

    I know that Indian companies take their customers on a ride and fail to provide the minimum customer support. But during my decision to purchase the HCL laptop I was of the impression that at least a big brand like HCL will provide proper service. At least I can reach my neighborhood tech who assembled my desktop computer and he provides me with timely support.
    Now I don't expect this e-mail to change your attitude either and wake you up from your sleep. Anyway if you can provide me with a working telephone number where I can speak regarding my Non working DVD drive, I will be helpful.

    You should send HCL customer care an e-mail instead of trying to call them as that way you would have proof that you complained about the defective optical drive and see if your issue gets resolved that way and if you do not get a reply back then I suggest you go down to your nearest consumer forum and file a complaint against HCL and demand a full refund along with some compensation plus your legal costs that is Rs100 and also claim any money you spend on going to and from the consumer forum on hearings and also the amount of loss you incur due to holidays from work taken specifically to attend the court hearings.

    It might sound a lot of hassle but trust me it is not and consumer forum guys are very helpful and as far as I have seen judges at such forums are generally very sympathetic towards cheated consumers and are very generous when it comes to compensations.

    Default very poor service of laptop under warranty

    dear sir,
    i had purchased an HCL laptop in august 2010. IN June 2011, when my laptop was under warranty, one of its speakers stopped working and the sevice centre assured us to replace the same within a week.But now it has been almost one month, and still the same reply, that will be changed in a day or two. My compaint no is 8400008197. It has been a big tension since so many days to keep on calling the service centre every other day but in vain.
