Dear Sir/Madam, Its a serious issue of a very high reputed company like HP India doesn't allow a malfunctioning battery replacement under warranty. The laptop had a warranty period of 15 days left to expire and the battery under performing in its back up was the complaint. The battery was not holding to atleast of 10mins backup when it showed 100% charge also. The laptop was 11months and 12 days old only brand new and MAHA electronics which is authorised to service the HP laptop from HP India delayed getting to understand the problem by 18 days and on expiry of the warranty they give an explanation saying problem is not covered under warranty but the explanation does not fit its own warranty and replacement conditions. Now that they completely deny of getting it replace but suggested that they would sell me a genuine new battery at discounted price of Rs. 700 odd, which I also felt not interesting at all when I still need to bear Rs 4000 odd to get the new one and when I denied of purchasing, they say if not interested in purchasing, the case of the battery warranty will totally be considered closed. Suggest me a solution, as these are no trust worthy bunch of people and things are day by day slipping out.

Battery Wear Estimates
Hardware utility applications such as Notebook Hardware Control can estimate the amount of wear your dell latitude d620 battery has experienced. Many are alarmed when their two-week-old battery registers a 16% battery-wear-level. Understandably, they are concerned that their battery is dying and will not be useful for long. Unless you were given an older battery with your new system, you can take those alarmingly high figures with a grain of salt.

Unless the application you are using was designed with the exact specifications of your notebook and battery, it is a generic program that estimates battery wear levels. There are countless variables that can affect the outcome of this estimate (notebook-specific configurations, BIOS and software settings, battery specifications, etc.). The utility can not possibly communicate perfectly with every notebook system and battery model available, so it takes what information it can and calculates its best guess. To give you an idea of how inaccurate these figures can be, my five month-old battery has 0% battery wear according to Notebook Hardware Control.

Same issue. HP site shows warranty valid. HP says their Database shows warranty expired 2 months before. So cannot replace battery.

I think time to bring them down using a good legal case. Looks like it has become a habit for HP.
