To whomsoever it may concern,
I had purchased the Lenovo G560 from the USA on 26th November 2010. The first time I used the laptop was only after 25 days or so in India (Mumbai). As soon as i started using it, the right hand side "shift" key came off.
I contacted the Lenovo toll free number 180030029929 immediately after I faced this problem. Firstly I need to mention that on several occasions, the calls either used to drop in the midst of the conversation or the customer care executives took too long to respond or they didn't know how to respond to it. Finally after repeatedly calling them again and again and explaining to them the problem all over again, they told me that I will have to take my laptop to the nearest Lenovo Service station. I got the telephone number and address of SVN technologies in Goregaon East from the customer care and I visited their office.
They took a snapshot of the laptop and told me that it comes under physical damage. My question to them is that since I have not used the laptop before, how is it possible that it will come under physical damage. They are indirectly indicating to me that since it comes under physical damage, it is not covered in the warranty and that's why you are going to charge me extra for repair work. This is absolutely ridiculous and annoying from a customer's perspective who has just shelled out 700$ from his hard earned money. This is not only disappointing and annoying but also, a form of loot I must mention from Lenovo. It is in warranty period. Infact, I have purchased it a month ago.
So kindly help me out in this matter as I have already chased these people a lot and now its time for them to show some character. I am totally dejected. Seems like I have made a big mistake purchasing from Lenovo.
