me and my husband had gone for lunch at Urban Tadka, Kandivali, Mumbai. They have many other outlets spread across city and known for their good and tasty food. We ordered for veg food. I preferred to have steam rice and dal makhani and when i was half done, i saw small cockroach in rice. i was almost about to throw up what i had eaten there. when we called the managers, in first go he said "sir it happens and we are sorry". they accepted their mistake in first instance. To hide their mistake, they gave us bill with cost of rice and dal waived-off.

such a cheap behavior that was. first of they committed their mistake and then all they did was waiving off the cost of two items. we have so many dishes and god knows how were those prepared.

we called up the owner of the outlet (Mr Sudhin) and he apologized. that's it.

Please let me know how to take this complaint further. i want someone should give surprise visit to that place and see the level of hygiene maintained by them in kitchen.

I was trying to find owners of urban tadka for lodging a complaint about the highly arrogant behaviour of the staff at urban tadka in Kandivali and I came across one previous complaint of cockroach being found in one of their dishes. We also found a cockroach and complained the same to the staff. In response they offered a desert which they said was complementary which we refused to accept. What infuriated us further was the statement that they had removed the cost of the dish from the final bill in which the cockroach was found. There was some argument after that and then they asked the staff to close the main gate so that we could not leave the premises. In the end we did end up paying the bill but the behaviour of the staff was shocking!! They refused to reveal their names when we said that we will have to complain to their bosses. Even telling them that we had taken the photo had no effect. Can someone help me passing on the details of the owner of Urban Tadka.

See we all know it is wrong!!! but this happens at many other places, its just that they don't get highlighted. So if you want to really teach them a lesson then you must sue them legally.
