All the policy holders of cashless medi-claim of any insurance company are forewarned to be careful with many hospitals, which are enlisted themselves as panel hospitals of the company, but when any policy holder approaches in serious condition with cashless card, they deny admission unless policy holder agrees to pay all the expenses through his/her own pocket from admission till discharge.
My wife was having a cashless health advantage plus policy from ICICI Lombard and according to the policy she could be admitted to any network hospital of ICICI Lombard on cashless card basis, which means all the expenses regarding the treatment would be paid directly to the hospital on submitting the proper bills etc.
I have lost my beloved wife due to the same irresponsible behavior of a hospital named Sahyog Hospital and Research Centre, situated at Virar west. Now I am cursing the moment I took her on 09th May in serious condition of very high sugar level (697) to the above mentioned hospital, (which is listed in ICICI Lombard panel) But instead of admitting her in ICU they demanded deposit amount and all the expenses will be charged from me till discharge. I contacted customer care but could not get any support. Therefore the precious time was lost without any treatment to my wife and since I had no money to pay them, ultimately I had to admit her in non-network hospital. Due to this incident I and my wife suffered a lot and finally she died on 15th May 10.
Will anybody advice me what action I can take against that merciless kind of hospital so that other policy holders should not suffer like me. I will be highly obliged of anyone’s support in this regard.
