Angry Carelessness in H1N1 Test - SRL Religare

We have given samples on 14th Aug 2010 via Home collection facility of Religare for testing H1N1 infection in our family (My brother tested positive for the same and is undergoing treatment as I Write)

I have a kid of 3yrs , my parents, my wife & our maid for whom all I decided to get the tests done as a precautionary measure.
The samples were taken on 14th at around 12.00 pm with an assurance that the samples will be processed on 14th itself & results will be given to us by monday morning sinc 15th is a National Holiday..
When I called the collection centre at pitampura they apparently were waiting for their centre head to verify the reports. Till 1.00 pm I kept on asking whether Dr ALKA the centre head has reported to offce and the reply was the same that they will call me the moment she reports.
After I got angry at their lame excuse, i contacted the SRL Lab customer care at GGN directly and was amazed to find that they were infact running the samples today (16th of Aug) and the report will be provided by evening.

I am aghast at the carelssness in dealing with a Pandemic H1N1 testing by the lab which is one of the few who are authorised to carry these at an exhorbitant price. If this is the response to testing itself , then how can the govt claim to even ave things under control in case of a breakout. Horribly the Govt may not be aware at all of these kind of complaints and if they are ten why no action has been taken about them.

I request the govt to infact tighten its control over these labs and in case of non compliance by them should revoke their licenses itself. If the lab cannot guarantee a timely service then what is the use of efforts being made by Govt & public in general to decrease the chances of a pandemic.

Please suggest as to how I can do something to avoid repeat of this kind of scenarios

Regards
Sachin Gupta
