My wife gave birth to a sygerian girl child on 02.05.2010 in a private hospital in Chandigarh. We were in regular touch with the doctors for the whole tenure of the baby with the doctor. With good faith in the existing doctor I with the consent of my wife decided to go to the clinic of the existing doctor. The doctor has told that the delivery will be after operation as my first child (about one year four months old) was also a sygerian. We asked the doctor about the fees. She told the fees about Rs 23000 for a sygerian child. As the rate was a little bit higher than the market we stll decided to go in the said hospital as the doctor was well familir with the patient and the rate was within our budget. But at the time of release from ther the hospital the doctor gave the bill of Rs. 35,500. We also spent about Rs 4000 for medicine. we get surprised. We discussed with the doctor. She told that the rate told by me was for normal delivery. We also enquired from other good hospitals in the city. The rate was less and the facility was more in those hospiatals than the hospital we choose. We thought that our decision was wrong. We were dceived by the doctor and her staff. Somehow, I manage to arrange the money, but we suffered a lot mentally and economically. Please guide and help me.

If you have anything from the doctor in written about the charges then you stand a chance but if not then its just your word against the doctors and a court of law can hardly do anything.

Do you have any paperwork about what the charges were supposed to be initially? Did you not get a breakdown of the charges form the hospital?
