I am surprised to see lot Fortis hospital in this forum, i believe fortis hospitals have habit to inflate the bills the moment they come to know the same has been claimed by insurance co. They are playing with the seniments of the people infact they have made the health services as their business of cheating people & insurance cos.

This is the case of my sister in law, she has been admitted in ICCU ward in fortis hospital at Vashi Navi Mumbai. The treating consultant gave the discharge order in the morning 9 AM to the duty doctor in the ICCU ward. Till 12 noon the doctors/nurses in the ward were unable to sent the final bill to the billing dept along with the discharge summary, the same was needed urgently to be sent to the insurance co. for the final settlement. This delay of 3hrs in sending the bill was no way the responsibilty of the patients/relatives. Due to this delay they charged us 1 day more of ICCU bed charges thinking the same can be claimed from the insurance Co. This is absolutely not acceptable to us though they are cheating the isurance co.

Why due to delay of hospital authorities a patient or insurance co. to pay the addtional charges if doctor has already instructed to discharge the patient even though your check out time is 11 am

We strongly oppose this kind of practice from the reputed hospital like Fortis incase if they will not solve this we will send them the legal notice on the same.

Need some inputs on the above mentioned complaints. I urge every one reading this to come forward & raise this un ethical practice of these hospitials
