I have to under go treatment for hernia in one of the good hospital in Trivandrum. I am having an medical insurance from ttk and i wanted to avail cash-less facility. When i went of pre-authorisation with the hospitals they have said the operation is going to be less than 50000 rupees. My Health care policy limit was rs 40000 and i was ready to pay the excess amount and i went ahead with the surgery.

After surgery i have enquired again what is the charges incurred at that time also the hospital staff assured me that they have got clearence for rs 38000 from ttk and the amount is going to approximately rs 50000.

But when i was about to get discharged i am presented a bill of rs 75,000 and is almost harrassed to pay out rs 36,000 apart from already approved 38,000 from my health care providor.

I felt thoroughly cheated and treated badly by the hospital officials. This was a normal surgery and there was no complications involved.

Is there any one who has faced similar situation before? whom should i file a complaint to do an investigation against the same and get my hard earned money back.

I am still recovering from my surgery and this incident has created a big blow mentally and financially.
