Dear Sir,

In a hospitals OPD, doctor prescribed some medicine to my wife. Out of the medicins there was one for which only one tabled was supposed to be taken during the course of entire medication. Prescription clearly says only one.

Pharmacy says that they can not sell only one tablet from the strip and as per the law they are supposed to sell only the entire strip. So, just to have one tablet we were forced to buy the whole strip of 10 tablets.

Is it really true that pharmacy can not sell one single tablet from the strip? Which law governs this?

I think it is not in cosumer's interest and leads to huge amount of wastage.
If such a law is there then the medicin, which was prescribed by doctor should be available in the packing of 1 pcs (like some antibiotis packed 6 or 8 based on the whole course).

Please enlighten us with the correct information in this regards.
