Hello,
I am little confused and concerned too. I had purchased a Virgin Sim from a local sim vendor 1 and 1/2 years ago somewhere sep-nov 2010. After six months i had ported it to Aircel. It is almost a year I am using Aircel.
On 29 Jan 2012, my number was deactivated and i started seeing a massage "Sim Registration Failed". I went to Aircel Gallery, they told me that the number is deactivated and the reason was that they do not allow more than 8 numbers on the name of same person. I was SHOCKED, 8 numbers on my name HOW COME? I have one number only. I dont know how it happened. When asked them how did it happen? They didn't give me a proper answer. They said there is some internal information they cannot reveal it.
There can be some technical errors/issues with Aircel or they have some poor process of handling and operating this part of telecom system. Or there could be some other reasons. Maybe the sim vendor whom i given my documents, misusing them.
Whatever maybe the reason but it is serious security and privacy issues for me. If this has been done by a local sim retailer then he might have also used my identity for other mobile networks. There can be many other provider connections are registered on my name. I get horrified with this thought when it comes my mind.
I am thinking to make a police complain. But still in dilemma.
Please suggest me what should i do now.
Thanks
