Anyone who has taken postpaid with airtel please CHECK your bill very very carefully.
They activate services without informing you. I was using airtel for almost 2 yrs with no problems.Suddenly one month, they have activated GPRS facility without even my knowledge. As I had no problems earlier with billing, I just checked the call list and had no problems with it.
It has prolonged over a period of 13 months. When I get back to them on 13th month, they give me a waiver of 3 months. They admit the mistake was at their end, since there is no confirmation from my end to activate it. But in the end the Airtel Customer Care blames me for the over-sight. I dint even know the meaning of GPRS until this incident. I contact the customer care so many times, they promise to get back in 24 hrs, I dont get a response. I hold the line for so long, then one floor manager comes online, he promises to escalate the issue, then get back to me. Even after a week, I dont see any response from his end. Again I call the nodal office, they dont get back to me. After few more escalation mails, I get another waiver for 2 months. After that I responded back to them saying that I wasnt satisfied with the solution. I asked them to even disconnect the number, adjust the outstanding with the money I have already paid.
After this again I get a waiver for just a month. Now when I call them, they say that the issue is closed and cannot be re-opened, I am not satisfied with the solution, yet they are not ready to re-open the case.
Till date, there has been no single late payment/non-payment from my end. Now because of their lousy customer service, this 6 month waiver itself took over a month, so this month bill they have even charged me for late payment.
Even in the monthly bill I receive(PDF), it doesnt state anywhere that I have to get back to the concerned if there is a discrepancy. Also there is a clause which states that they dont have a right to charge the customer for any services without explicit consent.
There are other packages of GPRS available. Yet they have charged me with a higher amount. I have been paying minimum rental of Rs 199 without even using GPRS, without even asking for it.
Is there anyone who has had similar problems with a solution for this. This is the most disgusting customer service. The customer care so lousy with AIRTEL when they are at fault. If there is a mistake at your end, they keep pestering you until they have proper answers.
I have tried a lot to get a complete waiver on my bills for this GPRS(around Rs 2400), by adjustment in the current bill. But they fail to give me satisfactory solution. Airtel customer care sucks. They should be sued for such malfunctions.
I demanded how I was charged without consent, they have an excuse of system problem.
When I tell them there could be a mistake at my end in seeing the GPRS rental, they dont accept it. WHY!!! ?? If they have erred, why should I pay the penalty??
Is there any solution for this with the consumer forum??
