I have had a pre-paid airtel connection for the past 8 years and have been using the same number and atleast worth a 1000-2000 rs recharge every month. I chose to stay with Airtel prepaid because I travel a lot on work and hence did not want to move to postpaid and unnecessarily pay a monthly rent for my phone. So you can imagine in 8 years how many people will know my contact number. Now I travel abroad for 3 months and when I was back in 2010 March I realise my phone has been deactivated and the number has been recycled to another customer and I had a balance of over 500 -700 INR and that is missing. I have been complaining and following up with Airtel for the past 3 months and no help. I have escalated to all levels and they only state that they have no past records of the phone number and they cannot do anything. Now when we ask them they state that over 45 days of non activity will do this to our phones. I have recharged a lifetime pack on my phone and have been a loyal customer to AIrtel. Now of course I have changed my provider and never want to go back to airtel. I want some justice done to me as they are cheating customer like me horribly.
Please let me know how I can fight this case.
