I had applied to port out of Airtel on 23rd december 2011. My first request got cancelled due to some outstanding bill payment (not more than Rs 30). I paid up at once and was assured that there will be no furthur process required to be done and my number will be ported out. On 7 th Jan 2012 my first porting code expired and I had to re request my PORT IN by again and after my new PORT IN request on 18th jan...I got a call from Airtel trying to retain me. I refused to avail any offer whatsoever and instructed the person on the other side of the line to just accept my PORT OUT request. Today ie on 20th Jan 2012...I receive a message from my other service provider that my request has been cancelled due to subsiting contractual obligation. I call up Airtel and hear 3 different versions. Some say my request (PORT OUT request) is under process...others say that the system shows that I have availed a one month waiver. I am bemused to say the least and have spent lot of time money and energy in the last one month to PORT OUT. But Airtel is to an extent harassing me to the hilt and I am left stranded trying to get out causing me a lot of unecessary and un called hassle
