i have been using the airtel number 9949101114 for almost 4 years and i was in a corporate plan with rental Rs.249 per month. this plan was changed by Airtel from 1st April 2010 without any prior notification, after the plan change the rental is Rs 199, however all the CUG (closed user group) calls are also charged now, when i took this plan 4 years back i was told that this plan wont change for life long. Issue 1: how can airtel change the plan without and prior notification and with whose approval.
The bill that was generated for march 21, 2010. i have made the payment in the month of April and since the plan change effecctive from April 1st the payment that i made was not reflected on the new plan and airtel has sent me many reminders to pay the outstanding when i have already made the payment. In the April 21, 2010 bill airtel has added late payment fees and service charges for the non payment and have disconnected my outgoing for a day, later when i made a payment of Rs.400, the connection was restored, however i was not able to make a call for 2 complete days.
i spoke to the customer care many instances and each representative gives me a different story, and none of them is on the same page, they say they will check the information and no one gets back to me. finally i went down to the airtel office at splendid towers, hyderabad and spoke to a reprentative called Vijay and he took my complaint and said it will be resolved in 3 days and gave me a complaint number 32603057 and he told me that they dont have any prior complaints from my end, how come they dont have, i have called the customer care many times and they dont have a documentation anywhere.
after 2 days i got a call from airtel and informed me that the amount that i made a payment for march will be refunded through a Cheque and it will be processed in 60 days, and i have to make the payment of the complete amount that is pending, however when i asked if they would remove the late fees, he was not sure of that and i also asked why would it take 60 days, then he said it is the process. Issue 2: when airtel can tranfer my details to the new plan, why cant they move the payment made also. i did not request for the change, it was airtel who made the change and why do i have to go through all this pain.
Issue 3: where is the deposit amount of 500 when i took the connection and the advance rental of 249, when both these amounts can be transferred to the new plan details, why didnt the payment reflect?
Issue 4: the trauma i had been through all these days starting from may and no one in the customer care to make a proper note of the issue and resolve my issue.
please make sure that airtel or the person responsible will have to answer my queries.
