    Unhappy Airtel postpaid data card bill

    Hi,

    I bought Airtel postpaid data card on May 2010 (24th or 25th). It was unlimited plan for 999/month. Before that I was using Mobile Office service for more than 2 years. I thought the data card would give net service with higher speed. But their was no difference in the speed compared to the normal Mobile-Office. Moreover I had to pay just Rs. 95 per month in Mobile-Office for provided 4 GB usage, so after using that for 4 days, I thought it's better to cancel the post paid data card & get back to mobile-office.

    So after using the data card for 4 days, I called the customer care for cancellation of the sim & service. But the guy talked to me from customer care advised that the Airtel will be launching 3G service on November, so he told me that I can suspend the plan temporarily & reactivate the plan whenever I needed. No need to cancel the SIM. He also did cancellation. After that, I even tested for the cancellation of the plan by trying to access net from the data card. It didn't work, means it was indeed canceled.

    But on July 2nd, I received mail from Airtel saying bill. Since the pdf was password protected, and I forgotten where I kept the post paid sim, I couldn't see wats the bill.
    Then after 1 month I got call from Airtel saying the bill is pending, THEY TOLD THE DATA CARD SERVICE IS NOT BEEN CANCELED YET. Also I got 4 bills for 4 months till now.

    I've explained the problem to every single person called from the Airtel. But no one is helping. They said the bill amount is Rs. 4000. When I explained all these, they reduced it to Rs. 2292 (GOD KNOWS HOW & WHY THEY REDUCED).

    I even got bill via courier. Today I got one more mail saying FINAL REMAINDER.
    Here is the content.

    We have not received a response to our Previous Tele-calls/Field visit & Letters
    regarding non -payment of bills towards the above said account for a net outstanding of Rs 2292


    Please make the payment in favor of M/s.Bharti Airtel Limited -Mobile Services A/c: 1020624800 by cheque/DD or by cash/credit card. If you have already made the outstanding payments prior to receiving this letter you are requested to furnish us the proof of payment to avoid further action.

    I couldn't get any other person or place to ask for justice. I agree, I had used service for 1 week, then it was canceled, even If I had to pay for 1 month (may be because of their policy), how come my bill gone to Rs. 4000

    I hope I'll get justice here.

    Thanks for the reply. As I suspended that number, am not curremtly using that sim, I have lost that. you can send mail to ramesh.se7en@gmail.com or I have also given one more mobile number for contact with that connection.
