IDEA cellular services Mumbai
I applied for a new mobile service connection by Idea on 19/08/2010 on visit of one of their representatives to my place. On speaking to his officer, Mr. Vijay Bhatt - operating in their Mumbai head office - I was prompted to go for a better plan, WIN175. After waiting for a week for address verification and activation, I registered a complaint via email (26/08/2010) which fetched a response in form of inquiry from relevant office of the company. Upon their insistence the officer disclosed that I was not found eligible for that scheme and through the mediating complaints officer agreed to offer me another one which I selected and applied for immediately. But even after a week and debiting my cheque, the company has yet to find a suitable time to send someone to verify my address and hence I am yet to start using my number. I have been in constant contact with the officer and keep getting one reason or the other for not completing the process. This is the way Idea cellular works if you dare complain against irregular/unprofessional attitude and behaviour of its officer level staff. I think I may have to go to consumer complaint redressal mechanism physically to get justice in this case. God alone knows what I have in store by this IDEA in future.
It was probably a very bad day when I decided to feel the IDEA heat.
I also wonder if such things even go to the bigwigs, the people who call the shots of these companies at all. They must be only getting the accounting bottom lines and feeling happy about it. (A feel good factor of a different kind). But India, its time to wake up and show our strength. I am doing it. Let us all.
