I use reliance Mobile Prepaid service. My Phone No.9692210584. I belong to Sambalpur, Orissa. I e charged my mobile on 28th March 2010 with Rs.11 SMS pack which was valid for one month and enabled me to send SMS at Rs.0.01 per SMS. On 28th April it ended and I again recharged for the same service on 30th May at 8.30 am this time paying Rs.19/- In the evening on 30th May at about 8 PM I received a msg from reliance that "Your SMS pack has been renewed and enjoy it for a month" and with it Rs.11/- got deducted from my main balance.
I contacted Reliance Customer Service 9861098610 on 2nd May 2010( it is really a herculean task to connect to this number as you always get "error in connection msg" and you have to listen to music for at least 10 minutes before a operator answers your call and on many occasions the customer care executive disconnects the call all of a sudden and you will have toil another hour to get reconnected)
On hearing my complain the customer care executive bluntly told me that "SMS pack 11 is an auto renewal pack and you should have contacted us before recharging it again. Since you have made the mistake it is not refundable as per policy of the company.
Neither Reliance nor their business partner who recharged my mobile ever informed me that this was an "auto renewal pack". I wanted to talk to an senior executive but was bluntly refused that it was not possible. On my insistence a complaint was booked vide no.125561901 dtd 2/5/2010 by one Ms Priyanka. but so far I have not received the refund.
When I contacted on 9/5/2010 again one Ms. Jyoti told me that the Customer is supposed to know about the packs before recharging. It is the company's policy not to refund money in such cases. When I insisted to talk to the head of their business first she refused and then kept me on hold for more than 30 minutes and finally disconnected.
With the above background I need to know:
1. How fair is the service provider to auto renew a pack without informing the customer?
2. They seem to have kept the call center number 9861098610 inaccessible just to exploit the innocent customers.
3. Why their business partners are not informing the details of the packs to the customers?(In fact when I asked the man who e recharged my mobile with the EMS 11 pack he told me that he never knew that it was "auto renewable")
4. How can they charge me twice for the same service?(I recharged witn Rs.19/- and they deducted Rs.11/- for the same SMS pack on 30th April 2010)
And Finally I urge Reliance to to refund me Rs.11/- which they have deducted from my balance without my consent immediately.
