i am having nightmares to get my passport done. i submitted for passport 2 months ago and nothing has happened so far. This was submitted via the new passport seva kendra by TCS which is suppose to make things simple( which it cleared doesnt). I was informed by PSK that i will receive my passport within 3 weeks based on police verification. after applying for the passport i checked my local police station if they have received my file and they had not received it yet. so after 3 weeks of wait i finally decided to investigate so i checked with the police and they said this file needs to come from Commissioners office. so i went and checked in the commissioners office and they had not received my file. hence i called PSK call center and checked and they said this is sent for police verficiation and the online status said sent to SP of bangalore Rural. this is a mistake as this needs to go to commissioners office. so i went to PSK and informed them and they said this routing happens in regional passport office. so iwent to passport office and my token number for enquiry was 248. i waited for 2 hours for them to tell me the same thing the website and customer care said. they said they cant help as the file directly goes from PSK to commissioner office. but the PSK says it goes via regional passport office. so no body can help. i found out that a lot of people are facing this issue just like me. This is due to lack of process knowledge on the part of TCS. A whooping 1000 CR project for nothing. i still didnt give up. i logged a complaint with PSK twice and the response time was 20 days and even after 20 days nothing. i walked into commissioner office and SP office again and nobody has my file and the SP office is actually not happy with PSk as things have been made very complicated for them. they have at least 20 people a day asking if their file is stuck their. its unbelivable that Government orgs are doing as required but a big private org like TCS has messed it up big time. I need my passport within Mid Sep and the ETA from an insider in PAssport office told me that if nothing is done on time, then this might take 1 year based on the back logs. i Hope nobody has to go through the trouble i am going through and my advise is please use other service like Bangalore One, Eseva, Submission at RPO or Post office but not PSK. Trust me when i tell, they dont know what they are doing.

I'm facing the same situation. The status says "sent to SP Office District Bangalore" but the local Police Station says that they get the files from commisioners office.

Has the problem been solved for you ? How do you go about it ?

You probably dont have knowledge on this whole issue, The passport issuance has nothing to do with TCS, Ministry of External Affairs (MOE) has outsourced some activities to TCS and they are Application development and Application data capture. The document screening, verification, granting and police verification, passport printing, despatching etc are even now managed by MOE only. This process has nothing to do with TCS.

As in the past there are vested interests in Govt of India working over time to derail such e- Goveranance projects so that they dont loose their employments. The delays are mainly due to inefficiency in the Govt systems and has nothing to do with TCS

My dad is working in this project and I know the facts . On the side note my dad received a Income tax demand notice for 10 lacs ( he is salaried employee and TDS is deducted every month) , Later we found that this due to some clerical error in CPC Bangalore. CPC Bangalore has been outsourced to Infy.

I had applied for passport one and half month back and still the online status is showing that your passport is in SP regional office, Bangalore....but when i inquired there they said....they haven't received it...if i go to PSK...they say the same bullshit online status and they wont do anything else and will show there hand towards RPO...but when i went to SP office they said.."we dont have your file..."....so PSK people are not ready to refund the money-one thousand which we have paid...so better go to our respected foreign minister and ask for passport...(sorry direct ticket)

I am facing a different problem now. I dont understand what these seva kendra's are for. They dont have any tracking systems of the applications sent by RPO for data entry . All they are good at is to say "we can't help" or "please wait".
I submitted my application through post office on 11-Aug-2010 and my application status has still not been updated in their database. When I checked with RPO , they gave me a new file no. and informed that they have received my application and has been sent to PSK lalbagh for data entry. I had been to PSK lalbagh to check the status and they said they have not received my application at all and told me to wait for 15 days.After waiting for 15 days I had to run back to RPO and get the details of my application. I was given in written that the appln was sent to PSK lalbagh on 20-Aug-2010 with the respective file and serial no.
Now , when I enquired at PSK providing them all the details, they took out my file from their racks and showed it to me. They said they will have the information updated on their database and I could track it online after 2 days. I checked online on the 3rd day and my file no. was still not updated. Again I checked PSK lalbagh and now they have a new story to tell. The DD which i had attached with my appln has been processed by Marathahalli PSK and lalbagh PSK cannot proceed with data entry it seems.I need to wait till lalbagh PSK sends my appln to Marathahalli PSK for data entry. They asked me to wait for 8-10 hours and check online for updates. 10 hours gone... still no use.
I dont know how to get my passport done. I need it by mid dec. I can't even convert my file no. to tatkaal without the data being updated. The seva kendra's dont take any responsibilities of the work assigned to them. If they had , then it wouldnt have taken 3 months for them to update my file in their database. They didnt even know that they had my file in their racks for 3 months. Relying on seva kendra's is a big waste of time and money. They dont do their work and they give all reasons to escape from their work...

I had applied for a passport renewal 1.5 months back and I was also granted subject to Police verification. It has been 6 weeks and my wait is on. I went a couple of times to the police station to only return disappointed. My tracking status also shows the same thing "Sent to SP office Bangalore".

Can any one update where this SP office bangalore is? and has any one out of this forum got the passport by finally sorting out the problem? If so what was the rootcause and whom to approach for a final solution?

I have already registered a complaint with Customer service and the answer is same (Wait for 20 days.....)

I have finished my Verification at my local Station.
I had called the SP office but they asked me to come there and check if its come there !!!
I have no idea where my application is stuck right now !!!

->DATE OF APPLIED:05/06/2010. through post office.

But i verfified with local poice station and SP for the ,whether file is received for the police verification or not.

I have submitted my passport application at PSK, Lalbagh Road on 11.01.2011 as of 18.03.2011 the tracking results are showing "Passport application has been granted to applicant on 11/01/2011. Police Verification has been initiated. Request has been sent to SP Office, District Bangalore .Your passport will be dispatched after receiving the 'Clear' Police Verification Report at Passport Office. You would receive an sms/email once the passport is dispatched."

I dont know what to do in this situation. When I call PSK call center they say "application received and it has sent to SP office Bangalore rural. Please check with them". Can anyone help me on this.

I do face similar experience with Seva Kendra.

As mentioned earlier by someone, they do not know what they are doing...

When it comes to Government things (like Passport, Driver License, Ration Card...) there are no serious procedured followed. This Seva Kendra is one more addition.

First thing is, they do not listen at all..

Second thing is, Inconsistency of details ( For example, in their web site, they mentioned that, Appointment fixing is not mandatory. But customer support says it is...mandatory - which one is to go for ?)

Third thing is, it is not serving the purpose.

Whole pathetic..thing called Seva Kendra...

I meer Hayath Pasha had applied for possport two months ago but till i have not got the enquiry daily iam enquirying in my police station the reply is your enquiry has not come. they say your enquiry may have struck in bangalore rural SP office. i do not know how to approach the SP office and ask them to send the enquiry to our local police station

I'm extremely disappointed with the scheme!!!!
One applies for tatkal only in emergency so as to get passport with in a week, but taking an appointment
itself takes like forever time!!!!!appointment booking opens at sharp 8am in the morning and all appointments are booked by 8.5 am(in timeframe of 5 minutes).
I really dont see the new scheme serving the purpose of tatkal!!!!!!!
Atleast for tatkal, U would have kept walk ins!!!!!!
This scheme is more or like a convenience for passport issuing officials rather than the public!!!!!!
Please consider our suggestion .

TCS was given a contract to develop the software and manage the process till point A of thier A,B,C zones.

Issues:
1. The process is over engineered. It looks like they did not understand the basic tenets of consulting and wanted to showoff and hence put in a complicated process to get thier 1000 cr bill passed.
Example: There is no way one can login to get tatkaal appointments - there is no check applied and slots are not paid? Why?
Why is online the only method in a country where forget IT adoption, even basic literacy is an issue?
Why is that they can manage only 250 people?
Why do you want the person to go through the 3 hops - A, B, C? Why is that we cannot submit the application and get the passport delivered? Why is physical presense required? Biometric scanning? Why not wait for UDAI to be in place that duplicate the effort?
Why not process the application and have biometrics done in 24x7 center even if we did not for UDAI?
2. The software is not scalable - if it cannot manage the load in pilot cities how will it manage the load in country rollout?
3. Where is change management by the consultant - after forcing online submission, we have physical forms being asked as a back - WHY? They have a process of making the person agree or sign the application that was submitted online
4. The process is so broken from a software perspective that one can review and modify the application after submitting the XML?
5. Why have XML generation as step when this is supposed to masses application

This is possibly the biggest rip-off by TCS to the nation.

I am Arohi Locham from Bangalore. I submitted my application on 12th Dec. 2010. My local police verification was completed in the month of Feb. 2011. Now my application is held-up in SP Office with Passport Office or Local Police Station having no information on how to expedite this. Please advice.

when checked with psk website your file no says that you have submitted the documents and does not give any information on when police verfication will be initialized or wether it has been done or not.

Please call to the psk toll free no 1800-258-1800 and ask for the details of your as it has got too late and nothing has been done towards your file no.

Even I have applied for a new passport on 16-June-2011 through passport Seva Kendra Bangalore, Till today I not received information about what is the status of the passport. Those people told me Normally passport we will get it within three or four weeks.
Till date there is no information. Right Now I donot know how to track my passport applications and know the status of the applications

For replacing a damaged passport , this stupid Passport Seva Kendra (PSK), Madurai had taken more than 1.5 months. Police Verification (PV) is finished 3 - weeks ago. Till now am waiting for my passport. When i enquired, in Superintent of Police (SP) office,TCS does'nt provide any online facility, but they are asking them to update in online. How the police man can do it in Online without any computer facilities ?. TCS not yet provided any facilities to update it in online. Police Department is not happy in a way that TCS is processing.

So TCS not yet finalized the work flow and they started collecting the application. Not in the intention of serving the people, only for business.

Many people are affected by this damn new Passport Seva Kendra(PSK), Madurai.

hi i applied renual passport on06/07/2011 in PSK MADURAI ,i received passport on 12/07/2011(pre verification),I was clearing police verification . when i check the status of my passport it says under review the reginal passport office...how can i cleared my passport status.......my file number-MD1071308077111,DOB-07/06/1985.

i have applied on 14/07/2011 in PSK belandur, till now the status is :
Police Verification (PV) has been initiated and a PV request has been sent to Commissioner Office, District Bangalore . Your passport will be dispatched after Clear Police Verification Report is received at Regional Passport Office. You would receive an email/sms once the passport is dispatched.
Anybody please throw a light that what should be the next step to chase with tha passport?
Anybody has the idea where is this Commisioner Office , District bangalore located?
Please Share if anyone has received the passport if applied in July or after that?
