Unhappy Nokia 5230 - Newly Purchased - Suffering Customer!!!

    To Whomsoever It May Concern:

I happened to purchase a Nokia 5230 in Poorvika, Anna Nagar, Chennai in the last week of September 2010. Immediately, after two days, I realized that there was a problem with the battery, handset overheating and the music player dragging in the phone. I immediately took it to Poorvika and there I was given a wrong information that if I get some form ( I dont remember the name) from Nokia Care, they will provide me with a brand new phone or a new battery. Later on, when I went to Nokia Care, I was told that such forms are not provided. This is a clear case of misleading of customers by the dealer.

When I was in Nokia Care, the same day, I was shocked to see the crowd there. It took me nearly 1-1/2 hours to reach the counter!!!!. After so much of patient waiting, I explained them the problem in my phone, but unfortunately they told me that they need to keep my cell for 10 days to know exactly where the problem is. I informed them that there is no problem with the software because I had updated the software through OVI suite, but still the problem was persisting, but Nokia Care Center was very adamant that I need to give them the cell for 10 days. I requested them since I work as a manager of a company and since I dont have a spare cell, I cannot be without a phone for 10 days, and I requested them to cut short the service time, but to no avail. This is really frustrating.

    My question and concerns are:
    1. I am a working professional, can I take every day 1 hour permission from my office just to go and wait in the Nokia Care Center to get my problem solved?....

    2. Traveling from dealer to Nokia Care Center and back to my office is a huge expense for me because of the distance, is anyone paying me for that?

    3. Why does the dealer mislead the customer so much?..

    4. Dealer has a kind of mindset "sell it and forget it" attitude, they really dont care once the product is sold to the customer. This needs to changed.

    5. Why cant a prompt action be taken in such a situation (10 days is too much) both by the dealer or Nokia Care?

As a result of all these miscommunications, I am the sufferer now and still my problem has not been solved, now it has reached to such a point where my battery is not even lasting for a few minutes and the handset is overheating so much that I am really worried that something major might happen to my handset soon.

Someone please kindly help me in this regard. Your prompt response to this unfortunate event will be highly appreciated.

    With best regards,
    Arjun
