I own a Nokia 5800 Xpress Music cellphone. It was working good for quite a few days.
A month ago, After using it for couple of minutes, i placed it on the table. Few minutes later i checked it for some reason but the display was all messed up. Next day i went to Nokia Care and told them my problem. They replied that the Display was broken and hence the warranty was void! I arguef with them that the display went off spontaeneously and there was no history of mishandling which was evident from the very good condition of the handset. But they did not accept it.
So i mailed the Nokia regarding my problem. In their reply they gave me a number and asked me to call at the same. So i went to Nokia Care again and called at the number which was mailed to me. I talked for quite sometime and the person out there did not accept any of my reasons and kept it firm that they do not undertake breakage warranty.
Since i was in great want of the handset owing to my busy schedule i got it repaired by PAYING RS. 2370.
MY QUESTION IS THAT IF NOKIA MAKES SUCH A FAULTY PRODUCT THAT THE DISPLAY BREAKS SPONTANEOUSLY WITHOUT ANY SORT OF PRESSURE (TO WHICH I HAVE 3 WITNESSES), THEN THEY SHOULD REPLACE THE HANDSET AND COMPENSATE FOR THE LOSES THAT HAD OCCURED TO ME!
MY NEXT QUESTION IS HOW DO I APPEAL FOR JUSTICE?
