A new samsung mobile was purchased on 22/12/11 at Alif Mobile, Oberon Mall, Edappally, Kerala India. The phone started showing problems the next day and was found to be a used phone since it containedfew phone numbers in the phone memory. As we were touring we could only take it to the service centre on the 6th day of purchase. We went to the Samsung Service Centre at Trichur, Kerala, India. They said it is major defect and a replacement only could be given if it was reported on the 4th day of purchase. They told us to go back to the Alif mobile (200kms away) and get the date of the receipt changed. We said that is not possible. They said they will have a look at the phone and let us know what is wrong. After two days they said the board needs to be replaced. As we didnt hear from them for a week, we went back to them. They said the screen also needs to be replaced. Today 5/1/12 we got a call from them that the phone is fixed.
This is just unacceptable service from Samsung. I lodged a complaint to Samsung Customer Centre on the 28th and no body got back to me regarding this. They accept that the phone has a major defect and they cant replace the phone. We request to please consider our case favourably and a new phone be sent to us.
