I have bought a Samsung GT - B5722 model before 10 days. And found some issues in it.
They are as below
1. The applications (like NGPAY ,atom mobile application and Gmail mobile application) do not coonect through the GPRS. However from the browser it connects properly and functions well.
2. The headset behavior is inconsistence.
3. Once you listen the songs through the Music Player on Speaker phone on mode , the next time after connecting the Headset, it continuous to play through the Speaker phone. After restarting the mobile it behaves the same.


For the above complaints I visited the Andheri West service center. I kept the mobile phone with them for a day to repair the problems listed above. But its of no use. As per their request I went to Santacruz Main Service center.
But the engineers there refused to accept the fact and has given Corby model of Samsung to check the Same application works in Corby or not . Off course it was not my job to prove this things. But when they(counter no 3 and counter no 4) denied to look into the issue I proved the things. I successfully ran the application in Samsung Corby. The applications runs very fine on Corby.

After the successfully running of application the engineers asked me to wait and said there manager will call you. But, instead f the manager i called the Service center(the number is always busy), and spoken to the Engineer Rajesh Sir. He said its company fault and we can not help u in this matter. Now the manager conveyed the message to me that GPRS connectivity will not be there through Application in Samsung GT-B5722.

Now please let me know who will solve the issue? I am suffering a lot and suffered a lot because of this.

Samsung pre-installed apps, like Palringo messenger, and even the POP/IMAP email facility in the Message menu, cannot access GPRS.

Google MAPs, GMAIL app, Opera, GoTalkMobile.. nothing can access GPRS on this device.

ONLY default NetCraft Browser is able to access internet. those Icons for Gmail, Facebook, Flickr etc.. all open the Netcraft browser.. not custom apps.. no Java application can connect to GPRS.

Complaint is registered with the call center.. they have no clue about this problem.. they just pass addresses of factory service centers.

I guess, there is no hope except waiting for a firmware update.
trying to return this as a manufacturing defact would probably work, If factory service center gives a certificate that it is indeed a manufacturing fault.

I was happy that atleast an established company, like samsung has started making dual sim phones. but this is a half baked product..

Please do not buy, B-5722 dual sim phone.

This issue you guys are facing can easily be corrected with a new firmware as the above poster rightly said. I believe that those people who make decisions dont even know whats going on.
Send a few e-mails to Samsung here and there .. make some noises and I am sure they will sort this out for you.

If not ask for a complete refund.

Well, ofcourse a firmware update should solve the problem.. but there is no firware update. problem is accesibility of Samsung engineering support.. They don't even have this Phone's model number listed in the support email form.. call center doesn't have any information except address book of their service centers..

And their factory service center's phone numbers in Mumbai, are always busy.. I'm trying since last 1 hour (on auto redial). It is either that Samsung receives so many compaints over phone, or some employee is on the phone with his girlfriend.. I can't expects samsung service people to be so friendly with their customers that they will talk for one hour with them.. :-)

I don't expect this problem to be solved easily or anytime soon enough.. bug fixing and testing takes time on mobile software platforms.. but if they register a manufacturing fault compaint, I am ok with it.
if they don't then I will ask for refund, because it is clearly a manufacturing fault and the product is under warranty.

Keep record of all communication and spend Rs100 on filing a case at your nearest consumer forum saying you have tried all means possible to get a response from samsung and failed so need the law to take its own course.. Ask for a full refund, legal fees which in this case will be Rs100 and also ask for compensation.

I dont see any reason why you wont get a judgment in your favor. Consumer forums are very consumer friendly and the judges are very hard on companies which take their customers for a ride.

2). applications like google maps,orkut,gmail,opera mini etc, are not able to connect through GPRS & videos on youtube are also unable to play, showing a messege "" unsupported content "" even a simple mobile like nokia 3110 classic can play youtube videos & also effortlessly manages to use java based applications,
3). loudspeaker's behaviour is inappropriate , when u play songs through loudspeaker and after that when u connect your headphone it still plays through loudspeaker.

....i been to the samsung service centre of aurangabad where they kept mobile phone for 2 days telling me that it requires reinstallation of software ...... but still the problem is unsolved....

What the above problem is manufacturing defect with this cell, so dont buy this product. Also this should be lesson the the samsung mobile manufacturer.

i am trying to connect my b5722 with my laptop to use internet but its not working. could anybody suggest what to do

This phone is not worth it for buying. I want samsung comapny to give me some other mobile as replacement. this phone is a DABBA. Its not at all a Smart phone.

for samsung b5722 mobile, if any person found firmware b5722ddjd1 instead of b5722ddja1,problem solved,
(to see your handset firmware type *#1234# ) but this upgrade not available max customer care centre.

I bought samsung gt-b5722 .six months before and three day after purchasing it gets automatically shut down when any message recieve i went to service centre for it but problem remains same whenever any mesag delivery report comes it shut down .
another problem i cannot play youtube video ,opera mini ,uc browser,and cannot play video songs from music player,even unable to use medical dictionary .always display jar file maximum size or unsupported content,
even one cannot put the call on hold in this phone.we all who bought this model are suffered so plz is there any out ..either it should replaced or refund because we all bought this phone as its of samsung company because of its name ..but we are sufferers plz tell d way out

One of biggest mistake which is done in my life buying tiz phone. Spending 9000 on tiz is waste of money. You tube is not workng. Internet facility is also worst. This phn name has to be samsung dabba.

there are 3 screens but u cannot add 3 different pic on the display screen.
cannot lock the phone using the number lock.
the pic taken for the camera cannot be displayed in full screen mode.
music player displays songs from all the folder u cannot add songs from particular folder. when there are 400/500 songs adding songs to playlist is i a hell work.
cannot download any applications on the phone, like google earth, ngpay, opera mini etc.,

this phone doesn't have well defined video player( ie.play list option), after conversation with customer care executive they ask me nothing can be done regard to functioning of other browser like opera, uc.
can this problem be solved??? if not, then what happened to Samsung engineers ??? they doesn't know how to design software ?? This is example of un managed work. they lose the fame of Samsung. i have gone through lots of complaint against this mobile phone on web. can anybody tell me how a customer will go for Samsung product???
in this regard two step can be taken:
1) Samsung should take back this handset from the market
2) update the software of this mobile .
otherwise in future they have to go big loss. i m also Samsung product user but in future i have to think for it.
