Below is the letter i wrote to applet officer...

The case so far;

I took the Airtel connection Number 9880406531 in May first week, not sure about the exact date. I took the blackberry 599 plan with 299 plan for calling.

Now, when I took the blackberry plan, nobody from airtel suggested or told me about the blackberry settings or how it works, as I am using blackberry for the first time. So I decided to call up the airtel customer service and spoke to an associate named "Rakshak" (which later I got to know DOESN'T EXIST). I asked him VERY Clearly about the internet usage and very specifically asked "is listening to online radio or streaming audio free" and he very clearly told me YES it comes with the blackberry package.

Then comes the surprise "The BILL", and I was shocked to see Rs. 7000. So as any human would do, i also did the same thing, dialed airtel customer service. And NOT once I called multiple times and every associate kept telling me the same thing that I have been WRONGLY charged, we will look into this and resolve it. Not even once I got a call from Airtel, everytime I kept calling you guys. The irony is one of the floor supervisors told me that the charges are because of the APN which on my phone was airtelgprs.net, which obviously was not told to me and I didnt know the concept of APN, and he directed me to airtel blackberry support. Now here is the funny part, the lady who spoke to me says there is nothing like blackberry.net exists. It should be airtelgprs.net.

By this time I was totally confused as to what to do, on one side I get to hear that the APN should be blackberry.net and the so called blackberry experts say it should be airtelgprs.net.

Eventually I escalated the matter to the nodal office and kept speaking to Vinay. He kept saying that he will escalate and get a resolution to this, but in vain.

Then Comes the appellate officers. Here I was speaking to a gentleman named Santosh. He kept promising that he will call me back and let me know the outcome of the investigation, but never called me. After a week of followup he puts me on hold and tells me some of the shocking things I have done. It seems I have used my phone as modem to connect to laptop to surf. I am new to bangalore and I did not even have a computer till two weeks back. Now I want to know the IP address of the computer I used to surf. I am sure you will be able to provide me the address as you have done the investigation.

Second shocking result of the investigation. I have used 3G services on a blackberry curve 8520 2G Phone. How fantastic is that. I am a genius to have 3G services on my 2G phone.

Now, I am even ready to agree to the usage part. But what about the guy who MISINFORMED me that internet is unlimited and I will not be charged for the internet usage.

My question is why should I pay for something which I was misinformed about. This clearly shows that the so called investigation did not take place, you guys did not hear the recordings of the calls.

I am sure anybody who reads this mail will see the discrepancies in your system.

This is absolute CHEATING and when the last nail on the coffin was when your appellate officer said that you pay the amount and we will give feedback to our people who misinformed you.

To my surprise "AGAIN" i got a bill of Rs. 8000 this month. I am speechless and clueless as to what to do.

Thanks.
