Default Beware of Airtel - Worst service provider I have ever come across

I have got an Airtel postpaid number and each month my bill amount will be Rs.200-Rs.500.Every month they used to mail me a detailed bill and after scrutinizing it I used to find some extra charges for some services which I have never activated. After leaving all my work I have to struggle with them to make my side clear and get adjustments.

I have activated only SMS pack and 2GB ,2G internet service of Rs.98.

I have also taken a record of each month's bill generated by Airtel and the corresponding adjustments made after my long conversations to make them prove I have not activated any service. For eg., Bill amount due as on 9/11/2011 was Rs.549.86 and adjustments given by them was Rs.284.58 and I paid Rs.265.28.See, the adjustments given is more than the bill paid by me.Likewise it has happened continuously.

I was dumbstruck to see my this month's bill.It is Rs.3,386.21 and my previous month's bill was Rs.233.84 .I checked the detailed bill and I noticed on 17/1/2012 and on 16/1/2012 they have charged Rs.76.8 and Rs.77.10 for every two minutes as GPRS for the whole day. I have only 2GB memory card and from the day I am using this mobile I have disabled auto updates and enabled update only through Wi-fi option since I have unlimited Wi-fi at home.

I have been using this Airtel internet only for checking gmail and especially this month doctor has advised me not to use mobile due to my health condition. The worst thing is one of the Airtel executives yesterday told me, you wouldn't have closed an application. This is the worst justification I have ever heard of.I have been using this mobile for these months and these people are teaching me to close an application after I use them. The funniest part is I dont have much applications in my mobile and as I have already mentioned I use it with sense.

Do Airtel people think are we nuts like them to pay whatever they ask?

The bill date is nearing and I have not got my problem resolved yet.I have no issue in taking a legal action with solid proof as my brother is a lawyer if the adjustments / discounts for GPRS charges have not been provided by Airtel executives.

I hear you man! I have the same experience with Airtel customer service agents. They are not only stupid and clueless - they expect us to pay for their mistakes. I asked for a bill plan change and they forgot to act on that although there was a ticket etc. Then I called again and got the plan changed. The Airtel guy admitted that it was their mistake but still said I have to pay the difference for those days. Good that they are on the phone and not interacting face-to-face :-) I'd say - just sue them. Even I'm planning the same for my other billing issues... good luck.
