I am a Airtel Post Paid customer and have just been cheated by Airtel Billing system and their customer service. I received a bill for Rs 7,713.49, Bill number - 671565057, Account Number : 105-100741151 and my phone number is 9845259320.
I have been a Airtel customer for a long time and have been using Mobile Office (unlimited pack) for quite some years. Earlier last year when I was changing my phone number (while keeping the same Airtel account) my mobile office had a problem so I had contact Airtel and deactivated it until my services were fully restored. Now about 4 - 5 months back I contact customer care and asked them to enable it again.
I was under the impression that I was going to get my same old Mobile office enabled which used to be billed at some 500 or 550 a month of unlimited GPRS usage. Now I was not aware that presently when I had requested for the Mobile Office activation you guys enabled a 1 GB limited GPRS pack. Sorry but I never actually bothered to ever check my Airtel bills till now coz I always figured Airtel was a very reputed company and I could always trust them. I got a sms on 14th saying that I was nearing my Credit usage and have a billign of approx Rs 7500,
I was shocked so I logged into my Airtel and check the unbilled amount and it showed 15000 which kinda made me even more worried. So I sent 3 emails to Airtel and made 4 calls and I was just told that because my bill has not been generate for the month they will not be able to assist me in anyway. Thats when I also found out that the Mobile office I had was not the old one but this one had a cap of 1GB and rest was being bill so I just got the person assisting me enable the other pack which was for some 2GB or 4gb which I am not sure about.
Once the bill was ready I contacted Customer care and Nodal officer and this is what the Nodal officer had to say to me. He told me that As I had the same GPRS pack since last 2 month Its completely legal for Airtel to charge me for the GRPS fee as I have used over my limit.
I was not aware I had a limit until this month. As the Nodal officer was not willing to help me with my billing issue I asked him to place a request to disconnect my Airtel phone number immediatly as I have just been cheated and no one in Airtel wants to help me but just wants to rob me.
Anyone can see that I have just been cheated.I am currently using DoComo and they have a Rs 149 pack for 4 GB GPRS usauge and you billed me Rs 7000 ? That too when I was not aware about being billed for GPRS ?
In my billing history you will find that my monthly billing has been only about Rs 1500 and never exceeded that amount.
If this billing amount is auto debited from my account towards the Airtel bill then I will make sure to go to the consumer court and also all the Web Forums/Blogs and enure people come to know how Airtel cheats their customer and never does a thing to assist them.
Keep up with you customer service in this way and one day you wont have any more customer left with you.
