One person from Tata Teleservice ltd called me up on october 27th, 2011 and offer me a new connection. When I refused stating that we already have a tata landline (03365265217) they offer me that the existing landline will be rental free for lifetime without any extra payment if we agree to take the new connection. I agreed that and the next day one of their representative came to me house with the new handset along with a mobile set for which they charge 1000 for the walky set and 1100 for the mobile set both are meant for post paid connection. confused by their lucrative offer I take both the handset. The salesperson provide me a bill of Rs.2100 on behalf of Cutting Edge Services (Challan no 448) I paid then with a cheque of SBI dhakuria(Cheque no:824478) of the same amount. The sales person assured me that the existing landline will be rental free as soon as I pay the next bill. The new connection was on and the number given 03364585647. The problem begins when after payment I contact customer care and asked them for the free rental for my old number that is 03365265217. They simply deny the fact and inform me if I want to get the free rental i must pay the stipulated charge. I inform them that I was told that it will be automatically converted without giving any extra amount. The representative from customer care stats that there is no such information. I told them to close the new connection as I am not willing to continue it anymore. They inform me as soon as I paid the unbill amount it will be closed. At that moment my unbill amount was 79/-. I immediately paid the total unbill amount and lodged a complaint. But all in vain. Now they calling me almost everyday asking to pay the rental charge for the new number.
I request to take this matter seriously.
