    Default Tata Indicom Walky Billing Issue

    I would like to bring to your attention that, in the month of July 2010 I have dropped a cheque in Tata Indicom drop box on 17th July 2010 towards monthly bill of July 2010.

    Last Billing Date was 22nd July 2010. A cheque was dropped in a tataindicom drop box 5 day before.

    On 22nd July I received a call from tataindicom saying that monthly bill for July 2010 is not paid.

    I have provided them with the details of cheque (i.e. cheque no, bank name and cheque issue date) and they said the get verify the same at their end.

    Next day again I received a call from Tata Indicom saying that monthly bill has not been paid.

    This time again i provided them with the cheque detail and the tataindicom person in call said that as you have issued a cheque of HDFC Bank it wont be cleared as tataindicom has some issue with HDFC bank and they have stop accepting the cheques of HDFC bank.

    Tata Indicom in call person told me to make a stop cheque of HDFC Bank and issue a new cheque of some other bank towards bill payment or pay a bill in cash or else my walky connection will be barred.(disconnected).

    In reply I said; we have not received any notification from Tata Indicom stating they had stopped accepting cheques of HDFC Bank. I requested him to send a note/letter stating that they had stopped accepting HDFC Bank cheque then I’ll do the payment.

    I also said that there would have been delay from your side collecting cheques from drop box just do verification from your side. He was not ready to listen to me.

    Finally I have seen that same cheque got cleared on 31-Aug-2010. The amount of Rs. 607 was deducted from my account towards Tata Indicom bill payment.

    If Tata Indicom has stopped accepting HDFC Bank cheque then how come the amount was debited from my account?

    Now when I have received a bill in this month i.e. August 2010, they have charged me a late fee of Rs. 100.

    In spite of me issuing a cheque on time why should I pay a late fee, if the delay is from Tata Indicom’s side why should I suffer?

    Kindly do something in this regard.

    One correction for below message

    Finally I have seen that same cheque got cleared on 31-Jul-2010. The amount of Rs. 607 was deducted from my account towards Tata Indicom bill payment.

    In below message i had mentioned it as 31-Aug-2010.
