    Angry Airtel DTH complaint - No installation

    Hi,

    I bought an Airtel DTH connection on the November 2, 2010. After that, the installation person came to our residence and handed us over the set-top box and the dish antenna telling us that he will come back after diwali to install the DTH.

    After that, I have called up at 12148 and 12150 many times, each time I have been assured that the installation team will come to my place soon.... but they are yet to install the DTH after 20 days!

    Angry Airtel DTH Hd No activation

    My customer ID is 3002895009. I have been an Airtel DTH customer for the past one year.
    I have another DTH connection from DishTv and decided to replace it with a Airtel HD connection.
    Against my better judgement, I called up Airtel customer care and booked a HD multi room connection on the same id. I was asked to pay through IVR which I did.
    Luckily for me, the equipment was installed as promised. Though, I was pleasantly surprised as a lot of people on these forums had to face a lot of harassment for installation.
    However, my joy was short lived. The connection was not activated even after 4-5 hours.
    I called up customer care who told me that there was no booking for a second connection as per their record. The person took all the details from me regarding the mode of booking, date of booking and amount paid etc. He took down my complaint and assured me the problem would be resolved soon.
    Next morning I got a call that as there was no booking in my name, they would book afresh but would activate the economy package on the second connection although my first connection has the Ultra package on it.
    As per the terms, I should get the same package on second connection as the one running on first connection. When I protested, the person told me that as I was not satisfied, someone else will call me to solve my problem, within an hour.
    When no one called till late evening, I again contacted customer care. Again I had to go through the same process as dy one where I was told that I had not booked any new connection. After much argument I was transferred to the supervisor who once again took down all the details and promised to call me soon.
    I received a call later that day and was once again told to provide all the details of booking as they were going to make a fresh booking and that the connection would be activated within 24 hours.
    Today, after passage of 24 hours, I again contacted customer care who once again told me that there is no second booking in my name, that he was forwarding a mail for problem resolution and that I should wait for another 24 hours.
    I wonder if this is the treatment meted out to existing customers, what troubles would the new customers be facing?
    I have been an Airtel customer for the past 10 years through Mobile, Landline, Broadband, Blackberry and now DTH. One thing I can say with conviction - Airtel is excellent as long as they need to take money from you. Once you have paid them in advance, God help you.
    I am waiting for final 24 hours before I proceed to file a complaint with TRAI/ Consumer Forum.

    I received a call today at 3.38 pm asking me if the HD equipment had been installed. When I told them that it is already the 4th day since installation, the person told me to keep the set top box switched on as they were activating the package and that I should start receiving the transmission in 20 minutes. Its been almost 3 hours since and what do you guess?
    No channels.

    Day 6. Still no activation. Private Service Providers are even worse than Public Sector.
    Atleast you know where to approach in case of a grievance with PSUs.
    With Airtel, its just a faceless voice with no accountability whatsoever.

    Default Airtel dth complaint

    I have a airtel dth hd connections. On 21st march 2011 i gave a request on helpline of airtel dth for relocation of dish from existing location to new location with installation date as 26th march. As on writing this message & even after numerous calls & mail my request is unattended. Airtel dth customer service has not bothered to call me. Franchisee of airtel who is supposed to do this job replies in irresponsible manner.

    Airtel dth customer service is hopeless.

    I have now finally requested for cancellation of services & wish to shift to other better services.

    Default Dth box installation

    my id is 3007574493. i purchase this connection on 3rd apr 2011. but no one came for installation .
    i called so many time to SD and also raised request 6678835. but every time escalation engg ensure me that the installation will be done tomorrow.

    I want to know when your sending your Eng for installation ?

    Thumbs down Airtel dvr hd installation severe delay!!

    My Payment confirmation number is: 14501739. I took airtel DigitalTV DVR HD connection on 10th-APRIL-2011 hoping to catch IPL series. I took your best customer package at INR 7100. But ever since then no one has called me for installation or even any acknowledgement. I have logged innumerable complaints with AIRTEL (even with SUPERVISORS) but with no resolution.

    I WANT THE INSTALLATION DONE URGENTLY PLEASE OR I want to terminate the connection and want to get the entire amount reimbursed. But they are not calling me back even when they say call back has been arranged. As advised here, I've written a mail to the nodal officer before filing a customer court complaint.

    I'm also planning to terminate my relationship with airtel completely. I've been using airtel mobile postpaid, prepaid, broadband and landline for the last 5 years. But DTV has left a bitter taste and so much so mental agony that I'm forced to do this.

    Thumbs down Airtel DTH installation delayed

    Hi,

    I have orddered Digital TV on 18th and got message saying that installtion by 19th at 2.00 pm, my customer ID is 3007972945. I had contacted Airtel DTH customer care and none of them are giving info properly. Till now I havent received cany call from engineer. Let me know if anyone can help here to so the installation ASAP, else i would like to withdraw the connection.
    Really a worst support from DTH services, if you can't make it then don't assure the customer by sending waste SMS to keep customer engaged. Atleast say truth so that customer can go ahead and buy other product.
    Cheating customers by sending dummy SMS.

    Angry Severe delay in airtel dth connection

    My customer ID is 3003532501. I have taken teh connection on March'2010 and since then it was running fine. Two and a half months back, I shifted to Kharghar, Mumbai from Panvel, Mumbai and I had requested the customer care for re-installation but to my utter dismay, it never happened. Since, 26th Feb'2010, I have called customer care almost 100-150 times, spoken to the same number of people there, who assure me day in and day out about the re-installation. Airtel DTH executives just lodge a request to the dealers to come and visit my place and do the installation but the dealer always refuses. The reason being there is a problem with the local "cable walas" residing in Kharghar who are no better than "gundas" and these people do no allow residents of kharghar to avail any connection other than their cable connection. I have assured the dealers several times that I would go & pick the technicians from the station & drop him there again, but in vain. No one has agreed to do so. My qustion is that, is the duty of Airtel DTH only limited to lodging a request to dealer for installation???? Should they not check if the customer problem is solved or not or if their request has been solved or still pending with the dealer????? Moreover, I have done adavnce payment for a period of 1 year and this money is now pending with Airtel DTH service. How do I get the money back. About the installation I have spoken to so many customer care people including senior executives. One of the senior executive assured me some 15-20 days back that my connection would be done immediately but it never happened. They always say that a call back offer has been arranged but no one calls back. Since two days back, I am also not able to contact customer care through my cell phone, a computerized message says,"SMS CALL to 54325" even before it gets connected to any customer care executive. I have also sent so many mails to customer care but nothing happened.
    I am mentally very disturbed, Since 2 and a half months, I have been trying to solve the problem but without any result.
    Can anyone tell me , how do I get teh money back from them as I have no hope of getting the connection done by these people.

    Thumbs down Pathetic and very impolite customer service

    I am utterly disappointed with Airtel's service personell. I fell into Airtel's mess not out of choice but out of pure bundled marketing service at your end.

    I happened to buy a Sony Bravia LED TV from Tata Croma- Centre One Navi Mumbai!

    The above two names are very respectable brands! And i felt the warmth when i interacted with them. Excellent Customer service, great follow up which would have delighted any customer.

    But along came a very well known brand named Airtel. Which is only well known but sadly pathetically managed. The guys at croma helped in getting me the Direct contact number of one of Airtel's employee from the DTH department. He sounded least interested to help me! His name is Nitin.

    He asked me sms me my address and PIN Code! Which i did within minutes. The call was made on Saturday evening at 7PM so he told me very rudely Sunday is booked for me, i cannot get it installed. So i was like ok, so when can you so he gave me an option of Monday end of day. So i was like ok please make sure you stick to what you have said. He agreed and put down the phone. Before he agreed i asked him do you want me to register online at your official website? So he was like don't do that, its not required.

    On Sunday when i called him, he wasn't picking up his calls considering it might be a week off i didn't bother much. On Monday morning also he failed to answer any of my calls! I registered online and generated a Customer I.D: 3008007792. Also did a recharge of Rs 1000/- as was required. So the Customer Care guys gave me a TAT of 48 hours! Again i was unhappy, coz if this is what Airtel tells then Tata Sky has to be God, coz they promised me 12 hours and did it in 8 hours! How is that for a TAT! Now thats how you do business!

    Sadly miss the fact that wasted Rs 1000/- to avail the services of such a pathetic autocratic brand!

    The Story continues in the evening when i actually get hold of Mr Nitin on his Landline he throws attitude stating that " I will get it done" So i asked when? So he states its tomorrow according to him! So i was like why did you promise that it would be Monday EOD. So he was like i will get it done by late night! So i was like i will wait then.

    Fortunately i call him at 7:30 only to hear that he has already decided to do it on Tuesday! So Mr. President of India who in this case is Nitin decides to change the promised time as and when he wishes. He is also angry that i registered myself at Customer Care! Now that was something. Never seen an employee so upset when a customer follows protocol!

    Yes i did a mistake once of not registering on Saturday but not again! A mistake which was a result of a promise from one of my touch points for the brand!

    Indeed this is very sad day for my interaction with the brand!

    No matter what you change logo or brand ambassador some habbits die hard! You just can't value customers!

    You guys did the same in Telecom and now in DTH! Great going! Your days are numbered! Life is going to be tough henceforth!

    Moral of my interaction with these brands: TATA Croma, SONY & TATA Sky rocks in customer relations! Hats of to them.

    Airtel you guys just don't change or mend your ways! Once a Bad boy always a bad boy!

    You guys should teach your employees how to behave with a customer!

    Now i will have to wait till Wednesday end of day to see some channels! Its unfortunate but i really can't help! Coz Airtel thinks its a great service that it is doing by getting my DTH installed!
    Gosh feel like i have ordered a Bajaj Chetak in the 1980's! Only Airtel can make you feel that way!

    In short you guys really suck!
