Being a long time Airtel Mobile / Broadband customer, the first name that came to my mind when I wanted DTH services was Airtel DTH. But sadly, I do not see the same kind of customer service in Airtel DTH as compared to Airtel mobile / broadband unfortunately.
My customer id is 3008814609. Order ID is 204815.
I bought new connection and I've paid using online payment on the airtel website on 17.09.2011. I received a SMS stating my installation slot is for 18 Sep 2011 @ 12 noon. But, nobody turned up. When I called them, they said installation will definitely be done within 48hours maximum. So, I took Monday Off (19th Sep 2011) assuming someone will come for installation. Nobody turned up and when I called, I was promised a call back from Manager within one hour. Nobody called and nobody turned up. When I called Customer Care in the evenig, they said installation can be done only within 72 hours for payments made online. I said fine and I took today (Tuesday) Off (20 Sep 2011). Still nobody has called and nobody turned up. I have sent emails to their Grievance Addresal system on their website, and got automatic response only. I sent mail to Nodal Officer and got automatic response only. I absolutely dont know whom to contact.
Every time I call Customer care, there seems to be no history of the previous actions and they treat it as a fresh problem. When I called them today, they say someone will call me in 2 hours and guess what ?. Nobody has called me or turned up for installation.
What I do not understand is, why should I make 100% payment upfront and get stuck like this, not knowing whom or where to contact.
