I am a software engineer working with MNC in Pune...and Please read my comments before buying this product...Please thing before buying AIRTEL DTH product.

The Short story::
I booked 1199 Rs (Economy Sports) pack through Airtel Dth cust care which includes installation free and 1 months subscription too.
But service engineer (sent by Airtel Dth) asked me to recharge "391 Rs"..which I disagree..and I called back to Airtel Dth cust care..after lots of fight, I got acknowledgement that I don't need to do any recharge and service engineer will come for installation.
BUT I have cancelled this order now...
This story is all about Airtel Dth cust care and local airtel Dth dealer's worst response...

My Lovely Airtel Dth story in detail ::
I called to airtel cust care on 2th Dec 2011, then cust care person offered some 1599 Rs plan..blah blah...then refused this offer..I told there is some offer which is cost 1100-1200 Rs then cust care person told you have airtel mobile card then we can give 1199 Rs plan.
Plan details as per customer care person provided::
Total cost : 1199 Rs.. It includes free installation, 12 m long cable, 1 month subscription etc....
I confirmed this offer thrice as it doesn't have any hidden costs and I have to pay only 1199 Rs, this gives me free installation and one month subscription. I have to recharge after a month.
I agreed on these things, cust care guy booked online my order.
I paid(1199 Rs) to one payment collector guy on "7th Dec 2011".. (Receipt No. 41880 )
HERE IS STORY STARTED NOW............
Story on 8th Dec 2011 ::
I haven't called to anyone...Cust care must have ordered to some local dealer ..
The service engineer from dealer confirmed evening 6-7 pm time for installation but he didn't come/called. That's okay..
9th dec 2011 ::
I called to dealer's cust care girl(Not the airtel cust care) to ask about installation, she said "she is not having my complete information and you can talk to Airtel cust care...we are nothing to do with this.."( What I think :: dealers are authorized by Airtel so i think its dealers responsibility to take of these thinks..I ordered through Airtel Dth cust care Not from dealer so either Airtel Dth/Dealers should take care of this...)
then I called Airtel dth cust care at around 2 pm, the poor cust care lady after putting my call almost 4 time on hold saying that she is checking my details then she replied "You have to confirm with dealer".. I said "I already had words with dealer...blah blah...could plz forward my call to your senior person??"... then she forwarded call to "Shital(Senior person)" ...then she asked some info and she forwarded same to dealer...
Now Dealer has my details.
Dealer's service engineer guy came for installation 4 pm...and then dealer's cust care lady asking "391 Rs" recharge..otherwise they wont do this installation...I was in between of meeting in office..I wrapped quickly as service engineer was at my door..so shouldn't problem him(We customer care about service providers but they don't.. )
I called Dealers cust care lady and told plz verify these things from Airtel Dth cust care...It was not in deal and Im not going to pay this money...
she asked Airtel Dth cust care number and his manager also doesn't want to give this and solve this issue..I said i hv airtel no frm which i use to call on 12150..i dont know any no..if u hv airtel card u can use this no...but she hasn't..
As its my duty, HERE MY EMBARRASSMENT STARTED :
I called Airtel Dth cust care, the cust care guy told I must have to pay this amount...
I requested him to forward my call to senior person called Shital or some else who is senior and should be in position to solve my issue..he simple refused and said this is not a big issue that i need to forward this call to senior persons and saying its not big deal..just pay 391 Rs and hanged up phone (Simply disconnected my call.. What I Think :: I was not begging him tht he could just simple ignore .. U cust guys use to call so many times when I was in office or somewhere else but I didn't do this for a single time ...then How could he do this with customer just because customer has already purchased product )...
I called again to Airtel Dth cust care...I told my prob ...
luckily, he didn't has more info so he forwarded my call to senior person..after listening to Airtel Dth adv music for 4-5 min...call got disconnected by IVR response(machine response) "Ur call is important to us...but our cust care representative are busy with some other call ...plz try later" "(This will never happen when you call for booking )
Again Its my duty...I told same story to Airtel Dth cust care guy.. he told this time some senior person will definitely receive your call and he forwarded/put on mute because this time no Dth adv music...I disconnected call this time after 3-4 mins silence and no response frm other side...
Now, I called on mobile no from which I got call for confirmation of earlier issue..i think this no belongs to Shital...remember she is the senior person..
Called 1 time : busy
called 2 time : After lots of ring..received and suddenly disconnected.. call duration(1 sec)
But who cares I have second calling offer on mob no...
Again I called Airtel cust care on (12150)..Will tell u story about this too.
Called 3 time: no reponse
Called 4 time : Same story received and disconnected.
I called again to Airtel cust care..I told same story to Airtel Dth cust lady...she got call from another no...she received that call saying me "plz on hold" and simply disconnected my call after some time.....I thought another guy must have requesting for new connection to her so my call just disconnected.
Im an idiot who is doing all these thing in my office hours
About Dealer ::
I forgot to told you when all these calls are going on one lady was continuously calling ...guess..that dealer's cust care lady..remember service engineer is at my door.
I informed her as Im in call with Airtel Dth cust care persons only..but they are not responding well...so requested "can I have words with your manager(Dealer guy)"
Her manager(dealer guy) responded to her (I can hear his voice) saying "we are not responsible for this...dont entertain such calls.. so just hang up..Dont ask me for such stupid calls..Why should we care??"..this might be because I have not purchased directly through dealer.. But I was really surprised after listening his response ... he just didn't speak to me...I just wanted to ask him " the guy who has collected payment is dealer/Airtel Dth?? and How can I get back that money.." just simple enough...
finally service engineer returned without installation.
then Again, I called cust care but this time I selected option for requesting new connection so that I will get some good response..the Airtel Dth guy received my call ..gives good response..appreciate his help..may be because I selected new connection request option...
I inquired all about new connection offer of Rs1199 Rs...It was same as earlier promised..installation free, 12 m long cable..1 month sub etc
Now I told him, I have already booked this plan and facing this blah blah issue..and asked procedure to cancel the order..and I confirmed that order can be cancelled before installation..
After that, I saw 2 calls from Dealer's cust care lady and 2 messages..
message text is ur connection activated..recharged 999 rs etc...installation time 10 Dec 2011 at 10 am...
and call from Dealer is saying we have all info and DON'T need any recharge..service engineer will come for installation .
this took almost 2 hrs(4 pm to 6 pm ) in my office timings with lots of embarrassment and harassment.
10 Dec 2011:
It was all settled and my friends also asked me to install it.
But my questions are:
1. Why is this happened??
2. Should I really go for Airtel Dth after all this embarrassment??
Somewhat same story happened with my friend too, But he bought this product...
I think this is the main cause because of such product companies give poor response ..we guys do mistake here only..we must teach lesson to these companies...
we shouldn't order such product..
So I decided to cancel this order...
