    I am having Airtel DTH connection( ID : 3004464907). Nowadays I am not getting any signal so I called to customer care and briefed the problem. So he told me to do some basic sanity and correction steps. It didn't work. Finally he suggested me to book a engineer visit. I did the same on (5-Oct-2010). Since then I called them almost 5-6 time and every time I call they generate a new ticket and the worst part is when you tell them not to generate new ticket I wanna stick to old one they don't listen you at all. This way your complain remains always new and when you call again customer care ppl will say its one day old and expected resolve time is still left. This is the trick that you cann't have one day old complain. is not it gr8888888... I guess Airtel is counting the performance of CSR blindly by no of complains he close or open. One of CSR(customer service representative) told me backend team closed the complain saying it is resolved. Thus both CSR and backend team of Airtel DTH is doing gr8 job to close all open issues. today is 10-Oct-2010 and issue is still on. Those guys tells all false promises and facts.
    Initially when I was planning to buy DTH connection I choose Airtel because of good will. I thought after sale services of airtel will be better same like other products like mobile and broadband. DTH is no near to those. I guess other cheaper player of DTH is right choice compare to airtel. Airtel DTH sucks. Those who are planning to get DTH stay away from Airtel. All the best.

    Default Worst Customer Care from Airtel

    The below mail I have send to Airtel customer care to the e mail id given in the website on 29.11.2010.
    till this time I have not yet received any reply.

    I have called two times the customer care through phone, one thing I have to inform there is no option for talking directly to the executive, We have to go to three to 4 menu options. They informed me their technical team will contact within 2 hrs. but after 48 hrs no reply.

    I have send the mail to Nodel officer, the same result, computer thanking reply only.

    I am also advising anybody interested to buy DTH connection go for another , don't go for airtel.

    Dear Sir/Madam,
    I have interested to take a DTH connection in my home (Co. Quarters) and I
    entered my contact details in your website. I have received your thanks
    letter. After that I received your representative (Online Sales Partner M/s.
    Vriti Infocom Pvt. Ltd) mail & phone call regarding my interest to take the
    new connection. (The mails I received are attached here for your reference).

    I have explained the situation of my residence place (the place is where I
    am living is Mailbag, N C hills Dist.), regarding the installation &
    everything (transportation facility is very less). He informed that there is
    no problem for that and the installation will be done in 2 days at no *Extra
    Cost*. After his confirmation & 100% surety I have paid the amount Rs.
    4550/- (for South Ultra Package) on 25.11.2010.

    Till Saturday (27.11.2010) the installation not done or not got any calls
    from any engineers or executives. Then I called the service provider, but I
    am sorry to say they are not easily reachable and I got the connection after
    4 or 5 times redialing (ringing not picking). I have informed the situation
    and they informed it will be done today (Saturday). After that I received a
    call from one of the franchise in *Silchar *and informed that there is no
    transportation availability (train) today, so the installation will be done
    by tomorrow (Sunday, 28.11.2010) and given an engineer’s mobile no. who will
    install the same.

    After half an hour I received the engineers call and he informed that I have
    to pay the installation money as well as Transportation charge.

    I have informed this to your service provider M/s. Vriti Infocom. They are
    once again informed me don’t pay any money.

    Earlier I was using TATA sky in URI (400 KM far from Srinagar) and it is
    given to my friend when I got transferred from that place.
    Why I choose Airtel because it have very good *picture quality*, very good &
    economic *packages available* and finally very good *Customer Service*.

    I have received the TATA SKY connection & installation within 48 hours in URI when I
    informed the interest to take the connection.

    I am sorry to Say that, I am thinking that I have made a bad step to take
    the Airtel DTH connection in place of TATA sky.

    Thumbs down Stay Away from Airtel DTH

    Your Customer care and Backed people do not understand the importance of time

    I booked a installation for Sunday Mar 06 2011 as no one will be available on the weekdays(Daytime) at my Home. I got a Confirmation that Installation would happen on Sunday between 12 to 1 in the noon
    I was waiting for one whole day at Home and no one turned up from Aitel, I lost my complete Sunday when i called them in the evening he told me in another 20 min he will be @ my doorstep...waited till 7PM with no luck...Later no one picked that number

    When i raised a complaint it was told that the issue will be resolved by end of Day Monday...Again no one piked the call when i tried calling (5pm Monday) the no i received through SMS

    Again i raised a complaint and this time the customer care guy booked a SLOT for Wednesday Morning 9 am, I got the mobile no of person(Krishna) who was responsible for installation. I called him at 8:15 in the morning today to confirm his visit...He said 20 min he will be at my residence...again i called him at 9am...he said he is collecting the material he will be there in another 20 min and started asking my House landmark....after this i called him at 9:30 and 9:45...he did not pick my call....

    IF i have to take so much of stress for installation, I can imagine the kind of service and frustration i will get after i start using this service. I have decided no to go with this Airtel DTH installation. I have called up the customer care for a REFUND of my Money (ID 5790003).

    After all these at 10:15 some other guy is calling up saying he is on the way to my house for installation. By that time i was on the way to my office

    For Airtel 20 min is 2 Hours i guess.

    Thumbs down Heavy maintainance chrages from Airtel

    I have taken Airtel DTH in June 2009, From then I have ended up paying almost 1000 Rs as custmer service charges

    Now they want to replace the STB charning me Rs 400 and On top of that due to their change in Satellite, they want to reinstall for which they are again charging me Rs 16 per mtr of cable..

    Airtel DTH sucks your blood and loot your money...

    So I decided to through away the connection and moved to cable TV.

    Cable TV is always the best because
    1) Service (locally available)
    2) you can view channels irrespective of weather conditions
    3) Dont need to pay electricity bill of STB

    So please dont go for Airtel DTH..
