    Default Complaint against Airtel DTH (with Sony Bravia)

    Dear Sir,
    I purchased Sony Bravia KDl-32EX710 on 16-02-2011 which includes free Airtel DTH offer with a 3-month subscription to airtel’s Economy Sports Pack OR 4-months of South Economy Sports pack. In addition, HD customers also get a 3-month free subscription to NGC HD. Details of the offer is mentioned in Airtel Media Center website:
    Sony India and airtel digital TV come together to expand the Flat panel TV viewing opportunity this cricket season
    But after purchasing the TV, the Airtel person told that the offer has changed and they are offering me 2 months of mega pack which includes no HD channel(which I came to know after installation and activation). Then why the offer was given with a HD TV if I did not receive any HD channel?

    The issue is not resolved yet. I mailed to the email address (airtelpresence@airtel.in) as mentioned. No solution has been provided yet except one automated reply. Requesting your quick action in this regard.

    Thumbs down Completely dis-satisfied with the Airtel Digital TV Services.

    I have purchased a Sony TV with Airtel Dish Complementary. Customer ID 3007288549 has been created on my request. I have recharged the A/c with 2000/- on 6/3/2011 with my ICICI Credit Card. towards DVR Set Top Box and Installation. The recharge was successful and i was told by ICICI that Airtel has claimed the amount Rs.2000/- with the Transaction id 819423 on 6.3.2011.

    To my surprise, I was told by the Airtel Customer care (over Airtel 12150) that the account is not recharged. Many times i called them up and gave the complete details alongwith the above transaction Id, but no action has been taken till today. I wrote 2 mails to digitaltv@airtel.in, but i didn't get any reply except the automatic system response stating that mail has been received and action will be taken.

    Everytime I call the customer care, I get the same response, "A/c has not been recharged", and always they take the complete details including the Transaction Id. This happened LITERALLY more than 20 times.

    To my surprise, today afternoon Mr. Saurabh Bhatt called me up from Delhi Airtel Digital and told me that the issue will be resolved soon.

    Again Airtel has shown their negligence. I got an sms stating that my account has been recharged with Rs. 20/-. Whereas I recharged with Rs. 2000/-, my account has been recharged with Rs. 20/-. What happened to the balance Rs. 1980/- god only knows. Again I called up customer care over 12150, just to know that my a/c is recharged with only 20/-. And again, the people have taken the transaction id i mentioned above and promised the same, action will be taken within 24 hours.

    This very clearly shows the negligence being shown by Airtel Digital TV towards their customers. I don't have any other platform to express my anguish against Airtel.

    I am going mad, but there is no place where I can show my anger against these people. Hope this issue will be resolved soon, and give me peace of mind. Now onwards, I will definitely suggest my friends and relatives NOT to go with Airtel Digital. I had a good belief towards Airtel Services until now, but this has been blown away by this incident. I will start campaigning against Airtel Digital since I got to know about an another similar incident with one of my colleague also, pertaining to the recharge not being shown against his A/c.

    Purchased a Sony bravia last week, was told that I will get a airtel tv connection free.I have a tata sky connection but thought let me try airtel- little did I know that I will be made to look like as if I purchased Sony LCD because of airtel offer by airtel....airtel-take a walk, this was your only chance to convert a loyal tata sky consumer, you have lost it.....here is what I was made to go thru:
    1) normal customer care will not help you, you have to specify that you are talking about this offer and there is a separate department who will help you and hence you need to redial
    2) I guess everyone is aware of airtel's dismal record in customer care after 25 trials did I get hold of someone who told me that He will generate a customer I'd for me, against which I need to deposit 1000bucks at airtel service centre, collect a voucher and again call up customer care for installation...huh...first it is not free then like previous govt departments you need to run from pillar to post for this...
    3) btw I have airtel cell,landline and Internet connection at home and i was told I was a privilege customer.....;-(......god spare me these airtel privileges

    Hi Rakesh,

    Yesterday, my wife's mobile got a message stating "Get Airtel HD Dish @ 999/- including installation and 3 months subscription free". If you are providing this same thing in the open market I just wanted to know what is the meaning of the special offer that is being given with the Sony Bravia.

    Not even a single HD channel is being provided with the subscription even if u get the HD Dish with Recorder by paying 2000/-. So I feel nothing is being provided specially for the Sony Bravia Customers.

    My problem is resolved and the amount for HD channel subscription fee (ESPN-Star Cricket HD @ Rs.150/- + tax) is transferred to my account.

    Though the problem is solved, I'm not getting even a single HD channel, promised i'd get the ESPN HD channel fee for the first four months during the free subscription period, but I'm not getting.

    I'm starting to feel Tata Sky HD which is providing 30 HD Channels is providing better services since one of my colleague has taken it and he is getting those channels free for the first few (I don't know how many) months and then at a very low cost.

    If we need to complain to get the promised free channels, then the service would become doubtful...

    Hope my problem will be resolved soon.

    Dear Sir,

    I bought a sony bravia 26"" LCD tv on 14.03.2011 at Vivek's vadapalani.
    At the time of purchase they said, airtel DTH will be provided free and they will fix the DTH when tv got installed. When tv got arrived the next day, they had not delivered the airtel DTH, when enquired they said that they had no stock.Till now they had not delivered and keep on saying they had no stock.

    My bill no is 11511017025. Please do the needy

    I have raised a complaint on 22 March, 2011, and no response to the complaint till date. When I contact the customer care, they say that the ESPN HD Channel has been activated, where as I am not getting the channel at my home. One Blank screen showing the schedule of the matches comes, and it not even tell whether the channel is subscribed or not.

    After I had sent several (7 exact - one each day until yesterday) "CALL" sms'es to the 8800054325, finally I got a call today morning and an engineer has come to my home to see that the channel has NOT been activated yet. He is just out of the door, and had not passed through the gate, and I have received that the complaint (Service Request No. 6503727) has been resolved. How come the service request will be resolved when the service person, who said that channel is to be activated and it can be done only when he reaches the control room, is still within my premises, I can't understand. When I tried to contact the service person, who came to my home, his phone is switched off.

    God only knows how long I have bear these idiotic troubles from Airtel Digital.

    I Purchage Sony Bravia and i got a Airtel Digital TV coupon. After that i call on CC and they give me My Customer IDwhic is : 3007361359 On 26th March i recharge my account after that i am waiting for instalation of Airtel Digital, but it was not done still now and when i call on CC and every time got a new excuse and they told me that tomorrow it will installed.

    Question no response from AIRTEL HD connection with sony bravia 32EX420

    dear sir/madam,
    I hve purchased one sony bravia led tv 32ex420 on 05/03/2011 from guwahati, assam. dealer name tarang appliances. and they promised with sweet words during puchase that " by tomorow ur airtel connection will be installed. we have inform to the airtel and ur details has been sended there.. hey will call u and they will install it".. but till today i didnt receive any call from airtel,, and nt even any customer id from my dealer,, although i called him several time today.bt no response.. my tell no is 9402275919,, and the dealer tell no is 09954704255. my location is nirjui, itanagar, arunachal pradesh..

    can i expect any reply from airtel???? waiting...............

    I want to convert my normal airtel DTH set top box to HD DTH set top box and want to know its procedur.
    as many times i call to ask in helpline always they regrets my request and dont give me a proper answer. sir i requset you to please give me a breif procedure to cure the following problem and finsh it.

    I purchased Sony LED on 20-05-2011 which includes free Airtel DTH offer with a 3-month subscription.but till now i hv'nt got my airtel digital tv connection. every time i call to the store they give me an excuse that they dont have HD digital tv.......please inform me what can u do to my complaint and please inform me if i have to provide you any details......................

    Default Airtel does not live up to its offers/promises

    I had purchased a SONY BRAVIA led TV, and I was told that I am eligible for a FREE Airtel Digital HD TV set top box, and on charging the account for 1000 Rupees will get a 3 month free subscription, So when I spoke to the customer service and I was told that Mega Pack price was 320.00 Rupees and 1000.00 INR was enough for 3 months subscription, and I reconfirmed again from the customer service representative that in addition to the 3 months free subscription, my subscription should last for roughly 6 months.

    Just now after 2 months of installation I got an SMS stating that my account balance is negative and I should recharge my account immediately, failing which the subscription will be cancelled. So I called the customer service immediately and tried to make some sense out of the whole issue, I was told that my initially charged amount has indeed been used up, and I need to recharge again. I explained to him about the 3 months free offer etc, he told me that it is a wrong information given to me at that time and there was/is no such offer applicable, Anyway I told him that based on the Mega Pack subscription my 1000 Rupees charge should atleast last 3 months which works out to 960 Rupees, He told me that only 2 months subscription was left out of 1000.00 Rupees after deducting the installation charges, However even on AIRTEL website is is mentioned as follows.

    "All the above offers include the cost of the set top box, installation charges, along with a 3-month subscription to airtel’s Economy Sports Pack OR 4-months of South Economy Sports pack. In addition, HD customers also get a 3-month free subscription to NGC HD. Both the Economy Sports Pack and the South Economy Sports Pack include all the leading channels that will telecast key cricket and other sporting events throughout the year, namely ESPN, Star Sports, Star Cricket, Ten Sports, Ten Cricket, Ten Action+, DD Sports and SetMax"

    Based on the above my conclusion is AIRTEL now has been taking the customers for a ROYAL RIDE promising them all kinds of offers and then backing off after they have managed to get the customers.

    I am going to post this entire episode on FACEBOOK & TWITTER, so that a great number of customers should be aware of this AIRTEL SCAM

    Thumbs down Airtel kit with sony bravia

    I brought a Sony LED 3D Television on 23-05-2011.

    Got an activation Kit along with it, which says AIRTEL HD DISH with 3 months subscription is free. I got in contact with the airtel customer care & was told to make an Account n refill that with 1000/- rs I have recharged the account id - 3008046063 with 1000/- rs on 27-05-2011 & placed an order for the installation of the DISH on the same day. But there was no reply, so again i called & placed the order on 31-05-2011, no reply again.


    Bad service.
    Negligance after getting the money.
    No responsibility at all.

    Same problem here. I had purchased a SONY BRAVIA lCD TV, and I got a Airtel Digital HD TV set top box, and on charging the account for 1000 Rupees will get a 3 month free subscription, and i paid that amount.

    Now after 40 days of installation I got an SMS stating that my account balance is negative and I should recharge my account immediately
