I am one of the initial DishTv subscribers, during that time they did not have a multi connection facility (discounted pricing for the second connection) for same user in the same house therefore I had to buy two STBs with two separate VC Nos. 01501439428 and 01501439429. After some years, on enquiring I was told by their staff that they had started multi connection but was only for new connections, all my protests to this were ignored.
Recently, that is 7th of August I purchased DishTv HD STB (activated on 8th August) under exchange scheme in lieu of one of my VCs (01501439428) and thus was allotted a new VC : 01510295704. That was the time that the Dealer I purchased this set from Shree Balaji Electrcal & C0. (Rohini, Sector - 16) told me that the multi connection scheme was going on for old customers and that I should get both my connections converted to save my costs. He told me that the the staff of DishTV who would come for connection should be told about it and they would get it converted. As instructed I told the staffers who came to install the HD STB and they confirmed that they would get it converted and took the details of the other VC no.
On the 11th Aug I had some queries so I contacted DishTv's Customer Care and just to double check enquired after my conversion which the staffers had promised and to my surprise I was told that the changes were not made as a written request has to be emailed to them. I immediately sent them an email to this effect as the executive had told me to do so before midnight of 11th Aug as there were some changes anticipated.
Now they have responded to me saying that they cannot convert these two VCs as multi as the scheme got over on the 10th Aug but I can avail it if I buy fresh connections. I have exchanged mails to this effect pleading my case but they fail to see all logic ( I can forward the mails if required to the email that would be provided to me)
I see this as a malpractice and sheer injustice to their old and loyal customers and seek the help of the courts of law of the country to intervene and stop these bullies from extracting excessive money from old and loyal customers. Instead of incentivising loyalty they punishing the loyal old customer to woo new customers
