    Default Pathetic customer service from AIRTEL DTH

    Hi

    I have taken a new AIRTEL DTH connection & installation done on 09.05.2010 evening, they have confirmed it will be activated within 24 hour but its not been activated, today is 12.05.2010( 11:45 AM). i have lodged complaint also SR NO. 2671038 is given by them, its all waste of time...

    My Cutomer ID is 300399850, i want my money back....

    If you would have read a few reviews on the net before you placed your order then you would have found out about this delay issue with a couple of dth companies and Airtel dth is included as I have read so many reviews saying Airtel DTH took a lot longer then promised.

    I have a Tata sky connection and it was installed the same day late in the evening and Dish tv is also considered good in customer service and support.. Airtel used to be a good company but I have had a fair share of problems with their different products and I never recommend Airtel products or services to anyone unless you do not have another option.

    Get your money back from them and go for either Dish tv or tata sky as they are the market leaders and have a better customer support record as evident from reviews found on different websites.

    Default Extremely Pathetic service by Airtel DTH

    I bought an airtel DTH connection on 1st of May thru the customer care help line. I made the payment on the same day by IVR. The customer support executive mentioned that installation will be done within 48 hrs. It has been 13 days since then and i am calling customer care service every day and still they haven't installed it in my place.Couple of days back airtel guys called and gave me the no. of someone named saju nair and mentioned he is incharge of it.To my surprise it turned that such a no. dont exist now.

    Yes, Airtel DTH service is really pathetic. Most of the numbers you keep on dialing and no one answers it.

    Secondly, whenever it rains, it stops functioning. Does anyone face this problem?

    Default STB issues with DTH a/c 3000999585‏

    I am waiting since 6 days and raised several Service request Nos. starting with 3887460 on Sep 18th but I call customer care everyday and nobody has come to take care of my STB issue. The message icon keeps flashing and does not power on. Everyday they say someone will take a look into it in 2 hours but so far nothing. I wanted to cancel my account and still no response. I have also emailed to Nodal Officer AP and somebody from their office called yesterday and said it will be resolved but nothing so far. Give my money back and take away your equipment. Looks like they also have a habit of automatically closing service requests without actually resolving them. I keep getting SMS saying my issue is resolved without nobody bothering to even call me and check. Other service requests are 3936517, 3921148, 3919985.

    I truly was a believer and a loyal Airtel subscriber but no longer will I continue your services in other areas as well. I regret using your services.

    I took an airtel DTH connection online on 28-Aug-2010. My customer ID is 3005072068. Since then I am calling different sections of Airtel but, no installation.
    Firstly I called customer care centre and I asked for installation. Then they registered my complaint and gave me an ID. But, when couple of days there was no response, then I called back asking the status. Then they gave me a mobile no. of their engineer, which I tried no. of times but, no one picked it up. Then again I asked the status when they said my compliant is closed and I have to log a new one. I again logged. No repose again. Followed up again. Again they gave me a number. Again I tried number of times. This time some one piked up; he is wokring for Airtel; but, he has no idea about my compliant. Then I took from him Airtel Malad office number, I tried there also. The fellow said he will check the availability of engineer and call me. But, no repose. Today it has completed a month almost and it is not yet installed.
    In the even I got the following numbers which are related to Airtel DTH:
    Malad office 022 400 30572
    24 hrs call centre 1800 102 8080
    9987 52 1912 (Name may be Dharmendra)
    9987 52 3148 (Name may be Dharmendra)
    Suchit 9987 52 3234.
    Finally I have decided that I will visit the Malad office and checkout.
    Otherwise take the matter to consumer court.

    Unhappy A consumer who was betrayed by Sun DTH

    1. Have taken a subscription of Telugu Basic Subscription Package Monthly Renewal for one year (Smart Card # 4123-3117-989R) with SUN Direct DTH service on September 20, 2009 through one of it's trade partner, Sai Akshara Agencies(Contacts: 9701333513, 9298105979), Hyderabad by paying Rs. 2,700/- all together.
    2. It happened to shift my premises where this subscription (Sun Direct DTH) has been installed on June 30, 2010.
    3. Logged many incidents for dismantling of dish at my old premises & re-installation of the dish at my new premises. Below one was the latest ticket.
    10023591887 dt July 11, 2010 09:15 IST. Despite of many calls to the call center (040-39407575), phone executives are very rude to me and didn't do needful. Even I called the original installer (Sai Akshara Agencies) I must confess that there was literally no response.
    4. I have been left with no other choice to make the dish dismantled of my own as I need to hand-over the house to my ex-owner. Have paid Rs. 600/- for dismantling of the dish at my old premises to one local cable TV operator. This happened on July 20, 2010. Moreover, it also happened to pay another one month rent for July 2010 (Rs. 12, 000) to my ex-owner.
    5. The scenario repeated for re-installation of the dish at my new premises also. Logged many complaints over the call center. Everytime when I called, call center executives used to give me many numbers of dealers of my new area. However, none was in use and a valid one.
    6. I have escalated this matter On Sat, Jul 17, 2010 at 1:11 PM to the local Nodal Officer, Mr.Ashwini Kumar Merani, (SUN DIRECT TV (P) LTD., Survey No.133, Plassey Lane, MBN Reddy Gardens, Bowenpally, Secunderabad - 500 011 Phone: 040 27957834 Fax: 040 27957836) by mail from my mailID manyam.friend@gmail.com to the address nodalap@sundirect.in which was took from SUN DTH. No response heard.
    7. Although, more than 20 days passed on by then, all my requests fell on deaf ear and went invain.
    8. Finally could able to find one of SUN DTH retailer of my own, who sells easy recharge coupons of SunDirect. He arranged a person who was also called as one of Sun Direct DTH dealer(not sure on authenticity) and get my dish installed after 22 days of disconnection (ie., July 22, 2010) at the charge of Rs. 250/-

    Another pathetic incident
    1. Recently on August 3, 2010 made below top-up (recharge) transaction requests for my subscription, 41233117989. However, top-up of Rs. 25/- is not being shown on Customer Self Care payment screen. Below are the details. Only top up amount of Rs. 110/- has been credited into my subscription.

    2. On the other hand with the top up amount of Rs. 110/- have requested for activation of addon pack, Pluto Super (comprising the channels Animax, Disney, Pogo, Cartoon Network, Hungama, Nick) per Sun DTH leaflets. My subscription was recharged with mentioned add on package on August 5, 2010 though it was requested on August 3, 2010
    3. However, came to know that only 3 channels viz., Pogo, Cartoon Network, Hungama are being shown for my subscription. When consulted call center again, I have been reported that due to satellite failure some channels are not telecast and fll service will be restored soon. Even I have received SMS alert on my mobile for the same.
    4. Since, August 5, 2010 there was no response back from SUN DTH to restore the service. Am observing the below warning message when ever turn on the DTH setup saying dish needs to be re-alligned to a different frequency.

    Your DTH service equipment needs to be upgraded for uninterrupted service. Sun Direct is sending its technicians to do this for you.

    We request you to please co-operate with them to help us provide you better service.

    Please note that this service is free of charge.

    5. Again mailed to the address nodalap@sundirect.in with all necessary evidences in this connection of not crediting my subscription with top up amount and channels of respective add-on pack not being shown (viz., screenshots from https://selfcare.sundirect.in:8443/ccdefault.aspx) on Tue, Aug 17, 2010 at 11:33 AM attentioning the AP Nodal Officer, Mr.Ashwini Kumar Merani, SUN DIRECT TV (P) LTD. Moreover, also mentioned the above stated facts that I have installed the dish of my own through the third party. However, didn't hear any response.
    6. As a follow up to that, mailed to the above mentioned nodal officer providing all my details viz., contact info etc., on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 5:37 PM
    7. Meanwhile, my subscription expired on September 29, 2010. As of now, there is no telecast to my subscription.
    8. Have raised another complaint # 1-678273341 Dt. September 30, 2010 with Call center. The executive, Raja assured me that within 24 hrs. issue will be resolved and service will be restored by re-alligning the dish. This time also no luck.

    I have been kept in dark for more than 3 months w/o providing me the service for below issues though I have been charged for the amounts.
    1. Dismantling/Re-installation of dish
    2. Not crediting Top up amount into my subscription for which I have recharged.
    3. Though there is no telecast for all the channels of the respective pack, entire amount has been charged and ended-up the subscription.
    4. I was made to bear the mental agony besides my time and money has been looted.

    Hereby, entreat you my highness to please do justice to my time, money that I incur in paying the top up amounts, initial subscription, installation, phone calls (literally more than 1000 times to the call center), for the service not being discharged for these many months and for the kind of ill-treatment whenever called up the call center executives. Unfortunately, there is no Service Level Agreements in this kind of service sector (not sure though). No point of contact for escalation. When disguisted with this kind of treatments, not sure to whom the consumer to approach other than the forum. Is this the only immediate alternative?

    Default Refund received from Airtel DTH

    Dear Sir,
    This is inform you regarding the post / thread I stared. A person called me from Airtel DTH -Noida office. We requested him for refund. And within a weeks time we got the complete refund as ECS.
    In-spite the poor response from Mumbai - Malad office, we received the refund in considerable shorter time.
    Hence, I respect the same and also request to improve the customer service at Mumbai - Malad office.

    This is regarding my 6 complaints in last 6 days and every time the complaint getting closed without your team resolving the issue or that matter even visiting the premises. I use all airtel services (landline, 2 mobiles, broadband, digital TV) and must say so deeply disappointed and agonized by your dealers (Sai Kiran Services, Koramangala , Bangalore number 080-40935482 ,9591992900) that I feel shifting to other vendors for all my services. Made numerous calls and everytime they tell a time but never turn up. Now they dont even pick calls.

    My complaint numbers which were closed without resolution. Would really expect a reply as to how they were closed when no one visited my place.

    It's been 5 days since I paid for airtel dth connection and technician has called for installation. Now seeing all the complaints I am wondering if I will get it installed. I want to know the procedure to get my money back and go for tata sky.

    Default Airtel DTH, worst service in DTH area

    Hi,

    This is Rajesh from Faridabad. My customer id is 3004382412. I got an airtel DTH connection 6 months back. and in the last six months i required airtel customer service once to resolve the signal issue. I logged the complaint about 4-5 times in a whole week but didnt get any reply from them. and then i finally called the Airtel Nodal office and on the same day my complaint got resolved.

    But I again realize that this would be the exception case so when its HD DVR launched on 5th may 2011, i apply the same on 6th may. They collected the money from me and promised me to do the installation within 24-48 hours. Now 5 days has been passed and nothing has been done. and when i called the customer care they told me that they dont have sufficient STB to install. If these guys doesnt have the hardware how can they demand for the money and make the commitment.

    and if i am asking about my money back then they need 15 more days to refund the money. Really pathetic service in DTH area. I cant expect this from Airtel. Is there anybody who can help me.

    Angry pathetic airtel services

    I bought digital HD DTH connection on 10th May 2011. My customer ID 3007924331. I had submitted my request on Airtel website so that I can get thru proper channel. The sales person called up same day and informed me that Airtel has Star, Sony and other HD channels. I immediately made the payment and it was installed on 13th May. I called up the sales person many times when there was delay in installation, but they never picked the phones. I mailed them multiple times to call me, but they never called back since they had pocketed the money. This is the sales support of Airtel.

    Once installed, things started to unfold. I discovered that there were only 3 HD channels. I had no choice since I had made the payment. After that i SMSed about movies package on 23rd May, I got immediate response SMS that it will be activated soon. I called up customer support and they told me that it will take 24 hours to activate, while other service providers activate ewithin 15 minutes. Now after 4 days I call up cusotmer support and they tell me that my request has not reached them. When I asked how come I got the return SMS, he answered that they cannot do anything and now this scheme does not exist any more, if I have to subscribe now it will be more charges, scheme is over. In between I called up 3 times and the cusotmer support tells me that their systems are slow and hence cannot process my request.

    Today out of frustration I told them to collect all their equipment and refund me the money. They said that they will disconnect the connection immediately but no refund will be made. Only amy account balance will be refunded. No refund for hardware which is hardly used and it will taken by Airtel back.

    This is has been the worst decision of my life. Airtel are the biggest cheats in this industry. Can the consumer forum help me retunr my money and take this hardware back, I wanno shift to Tata Sky or other service providers, who have far more better service than airtel. These are cheats who just wanno grab people's money without any service commitment.

    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T TAKE AIRTEL CONNECTION...YOUR LIFE WILL BECOME HELL AND YOU WILL BE CHEATED....

    Angry Pathetic Airtel DTH Customer Care

    Despite of raising complains several times, there is no resolution yet. I raised the complaint three months ago. The nodal office is also cold. not body responds to the emails. I have tried all channels. Phone numbers provided by customer care are never answered. I was given below nos for Bangalore.

    I have a suggestion to AIRTEL DTH marketers/head/owners. Why are selling your product is can provide service to them.

    My Cust Id is 3005213845. I have finally decide to through the box away. Buying another DTH is better option. And I will make sure no one of my mates go for Airtel DTH. It is completely opposite of there broadband service.

    Angry Poor DTH Customer Support from AIRTEL

    My customer ID is 3008103106. Nobody gives proper response for installing the DTH set up box. Everybody passes the buck by giving a new phone number. I would say other DTH service providers are more responsive. If you wish to waste your Time, Energy and Money - go for Airtel DTH !!

    Default Airtel Dth - Customer care..Falsification just for a sale

    I called the Airtel DTH customer care sales team on 25th Dec 2011 11.30 AM. I was intend to purchase a New connection only if the installation can be done within the next day as I am going to out of station for few weeks. So I explained this clearly to the sales person. I was assured that the installation and activation would be done by the next day. I said them repeatedly that I want to purchase only if it will be installed by the next day. I was assured by the sales person and the supervisor. So I went ahead and placed the order through IVR for amount Rs.1590 through by Credit card. I was given the transaction# 18109208 alone and was informed by the sales person that I would get a SMS shortly with the customer ID. But I never received it. To check the status, I called the customer care again. I was informed that it would take up to 72 hours for the installation. So.. I was given false information, just for a SALE?????

    I had to call at least 12 times to reach the escalation team in Airtel. But was left on long hold and got disconnected several times. Finally I was able to reach them. The person informed me that I would get a callback in 4 hours. But I didn't heard back from them. Again today I called customer care and spoke to escalation team in SALES. I was assured that I would get a callback in 30 mins. Again I didn't hear back from them. Its really frustrating that I was given false information just to process a SALE.

    I agree.. Had similar expereinces with the Airtel DTH customer care. I regret my decision to take Airtel DTH... Strongly advice not to even think of them for any connecitons.
