My Airtel HD Set Top box was unserviceable since a long time the engineer finally arrived on 18th Nov 2011 at 8 p.m. and replaced my Set Top Box with another old box for which I was also charged Rs 750/-. On enquiring about the box being old I was informed that the box was returned by some other customer after some problem and it is being installed at my place after repairs. The replaced Set Top Box is loosing audio through HDMI cable on its own and then suddenly the audio comes back, this has been happening since the service engineer has left, I have already lodged a service request no. 13781537 with Customer Car. I hope the Airtel service responds promptly this time and resolves my problem in a manner which would not increase my troubles instead of reducing them. IT IS A REQUEST THAT PLEASE DO NOT FOOL THE CUSTOMER BY REPLACING ONE UNSERVICEABLE SET TOP BOX WITH ANOTHER OLD AND UNSERVICEABLE BOX AND CHARGING HIM FOR THE SAME.
I have received a call back from the customer care and the engineer, but instead of realising the problem I am being told that my HDMI cable is unserviceable without no one even checking it, neither the engineer without checking it, and I dont understand how the customer care people can come to this conclusion without actually seeing the problem. I have already checked my cable with other set top box and it is working absolutely fine, similarly I have checked another cable in my set top box and the same problem persists. The problem seemingly lies with the HDMI outport of set top box as the transmission is satisfactory through AVG able. I hope you people provide me with a decent/new set top box and not a repaired one which infact has not been repaired at all...!!
