Dear Sir,

I wish to bring to your kindnotice that I had deposited a sum of Rs.4,00,000/- with M/s. Jaiprakash Associates Limited for one year. But due to some urgency, I had opted for pre mature withdrawal of my two FDs (Rs.2,00,000/- each) . This is to my utter surprise that the company did not pay interest for the period insterad they had made arbitrary deduction from my principal amount. Gist of my complaint is given below for your kind consideration and perusal.

PRE MATURE WITHDRAWAL OF FDRs

Dear Sir,

Two FDRs had been issued to me application forms of which were deposited through M/s. R.R. Consultants Limited, Rajendra Place, New Delhi as per details given below :

FDR NO. & DATE AMOUNT (RS) DATE OF MATURITY
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
00176429 DT. 12.11.2009 2,00,000/- 11.11.2010

00176430 DT. 12.11.2009 2,00,000/- 11.11.2010

Now I wish to bring to your kind notice that due to some urgent requirement, I had to withdraw the money before maturity. Today I had received my two cheques as per following details

CHEQUE NO. & DT. AMOUNT OF FDR AMOUNT OF CHEQUE
(RS) (RS)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

453743 DT. 3.5.2010 2,00,000/- 1,98,000/-

453744 DT.3.5.2010 2,00,000/- 1,98,000/-

Copies of cheques are enclosed herewith for your kind perusal.

It was to my utter surprise when I received only Rs.1,98,000/- against my Principal amount of Rs.2,00,000/- each and that too after about six months without any interest and an arbitrary deduction of Rs.2,000/- each cheque.

When I contacted your office, I spoke to Mr. Bhandari and was told that withdrawal before six months does not carry any interest but if 5-7 days are short to six months, we speak to the investor so that he may not lose any interest. But in my case, neither I was contacted nor informed. The cheques were prepared on 3.5.2010 while six months period was completing on 11.5.2010 (only short of 7-8 days). In this way, I suffered a loss of Rs.24,000/- means I have not gained anything but lost my interest as well as principal amount. I had kept my hard earned money with you for six months on which your company would have earned interest too.

Here again I would like to inform you that in your application form there is no mention about the premature withdrawal terms which is against law and this clause is misleading the investor. At least investor should know about the premature withdrawal procedure before investing.

I also like to inform you that some of my friends have invested more than Rs.20,00,000/- in your Company FDRs on my recommendations through R.R. Consultants. I treat Jaiprakash Associates Limited one of the prestigious company who is famour for its honesty, sincerty and commitment.

I shall be grateful if you could look into the matter at your personal level and help me in getting my hard earned money back (Rs.20,000 interest plus Rs.4,000/- arbitrary deduction from my Principal amount) so that investor's confidence remains in Jaiprakash Group of companies. I will not encash the cheques received by me unless I hear from you.

I hope for a favourable reply from you very soon.

Thanking you,

Yours sincerely,

(VEENA CHOPRA)
