Meerut Development Authority

Meerut Development Authority (MDA) is the major agency of the Government of Uttar Pradesh answerable for taking in advance the tradition of planned and sustainable development of Meerut. All businessmen, local residents, small retailers and others always look for to the plans of the Meerut Development Authority for any kind of residence welfare establishment, mall establishment, or retail shop establishment. Off late the MDA has been able to gather lot of projects for the development of the district and location.

What are aims and objective of MDA?
The aims and objects of MDA are far reaching in both long term and short term planning. The MDA has plans to reduce population congestion and that is their primary objective. A plan to have restricted individuals per hectare has been proposed. Similar to the Delhi plan, where with the purpose of limiting the population of the city of Delhi, national capital region has been conceptualized with parts of Haryana, Rajasthan and U.P. with Delhi being at the centre. Meerut Development Authority too foresees something similar to make the population congestion limited per square kilometer.

The Geographical properties of the region that comes under the MDA include -
Ganga demarkets its eastern boundary
Yamuna demarkets boundaries between U.P. and Haryana
Arrawali range of Mountains on the western sites, small rivulets cut across these mountains on the south western sites.
The rest of this region is a sloping plain from north east to south and from south-west.
U.P. subregion (1,08,532 sq.km.) includes Meerut, Ghaziabad and Bulandshahar and makes up about 3.68 % of the total U.P. region.

Under National capital region planning board, Meerut had been chosen as main satellite city. To meet the supplementary requirements of housing and curb contamination, it is important that MDA plans ahead. For the same reason MDA has got hold of substantial acres of land till date. Proposals have been concludes and some have already been implemented. Keeping in mind the financial strata of the civilization; lower, middle and upper income group houses have been planned. Development of plots as well as construction of commercial centers, Hotels, parks, theatres, offices, amusement stalls, schools, colleges, hospitals are being especially included in the schemes.

MDA is also coming across after the needs of the villages which plummet next to previous and new colonies. Arrangements of water, electricity and roads are being made with all possible speed. Beautification of the old city, lighting and transportation has been MDA's serious concern.
MDA has also granted UPSIDC, Indian oil corp. and other organizations with land, keeping in mind the industrial requirements of the region. Traditional trade pockets engaged in the production of the sports goods, scissors, and handloom are distributed almost all over the interiors of the city. Also to meet further needs Meerut Development Authority is organizing sports good complex, Hathkargha nagar and Kainchi nagar.

PAC has been offered with land in handloom nagar for safety reasons, and a police training college is also being established. Paramilitary troops like CRPF have been provided with land in the vedvyas puri to provide security for people living in that locality.

In Pallavpuram Phase II all the residents who are located on the main road have encroached the service lane in front of their houses which has led to shrinking of the main colony road..as it is illegal kiosks have comeup on the sides of the main road..children,girls,women and senior citizns are subject to risk every day when they walk on the road. This blatant encroachment by these residents has put entire load of traffic on the main road leading to accidents etc. Sir it is requested of you to do the needfull in this regard..thanking you..
