Reg: Complaint against Meter Reader Mr. Kamal Bhatia Posted at C-1 Janak Puri, New Delhi.
At the outset let me introduce myself; I am working as Chief Manager in Nationalised Bank. I hereby submit an example of working in Delhi Jal Board.
With due respect, I hereby state Meter Reader Mr. Kamal Bhatia is posted at Delhi Jal Board Office situated at C Block, Janak Puri, New Delhi and on 04.06.2011, Mr Bhatia visited at my residence for Meter reading of JP-12398 along with 6 other meters installed at the same building viz. A-1/285, Janak Puri, New Delhi. Again on 05-06-2011, Mr. Bhatia met me personally and demanded consideration for making necessary adjustment for lowering of units consumed in meter reading , however, I declined the offer by saying that whatever be the genuine reading, I am ready to pay. I was astonished to note that he also visited other residents of the building for the same offer. At about 8.45 when I was leaving for Office, I found a worker at the ground floor, when I enquired, I was told that Mr. Bhatia had sent him for making some correction in Water Meters, as I was in hurry, I left for Office.
Today, I have received the bill No. 39944 dt. 01.07.2011 (Meter Reader Code 524/JP) for the period from 30.12.2010 to 04.06.2011 for 265 units for Rs. 7543 with the remarks "DELETION -22. 00-448. 00" whereas other residents residing in the same building have got bills for nominal amounts. It is a glaring example of misappropriation of revenue of Delhi Jal Board.
I may further state that today when I checked my water meter; it was showing 1372 units viz. consumption of another 141 units which reflects manipulation in the reading of Water Meter.
In the light of the above, I have come to know that Mr. Kamal Bhatia (M-9818884458) along with contractor having M-9211659356 are making alteration in meter reading for their personal benefit which is causing loss to Delhi Jal Board. This fact can be proved by making enquiries from the localities of the area under Mr. Bhatia.
I am sure that some manipulation has been made in the reading of meter due to which bill of such high amount has been sent to me in comparison to other fellow residents of the building/vicinity.
I hereby request you to make the confidential enquiries into the matter and take appropriate actions/steps.

I have sent may mails/letters to the officials of Delhi Jal Board at HO: Jhande walan & Janak Puri, however, no one even cared to acknowledge.
