Dear Sir,

I, Seema Singh, have a serious complaint concerning the harrowing experience I went through in the process of buying Tata Nano. I bought the car in October 2010(Car registration no 113759082, car registered on 25th march).

I got the car through lucky draw in which I was told that I could get the car from ASL Motors. For this I had taken a bank loan of Rs 1,40,000 from Central Bank of India, Jamshedpur.

I received the car from authorized Tata Dealers ASL Motors located in Adityapur, Jamshedpur. But in January, after getting the car I was shocked to receive the intimation from the bank that the loan amount was returned back to the bank by the company. I tried to find the reason but none was given. Bank asked me to pay the interest for one year as money was kept by the company for one year. ASL Motors started calling and said that I would have to return the car as the company had sent back the amount and hence it meant I had actually not paid for the car. I tried a lot to discuss with the dealer as well as bank and find solutions or reasons of why the amount was returned but it was all in vain. The dealer said that they cannot help as the head office was not responding to them. They started pleading saying their job was at risk and asked me to pay 1,40,000(rest was already paid in cash by me) if I wanted to keep the car. The bank was just interested in getting the interest.

I had to again take a loan of 1,40,000 from Tata Finances to pay the dealer so that I could retain the car. In addition to paying the interest for the new loan, I have to pay around Rs 25,000 for the old loan too. Besides the amount that I am being forced to pay for no fault of mine, this entire process has been very harassing to me. I did not expect such actions from trustworthy brand like the Tata Group.

I have been relentlessly trying to contact concerned officials through calling, emailing etc but in vain. I even sent a letter to Tata Motors main office but there was no response. I would appreciate, if I get some answers about why the amount by the company was returned after a period of one year. It has cost me Rs 25000 (which is still increasing with time) loss in way of interests which is a huge amount for me. Some considerate response is highly expected from Tata Group.

Yours sincerely,
Seema Singh
