Mine is a really sad story…I own a FIAT PUNTO EMOTION 90HP DIESEL. The supposed to be top end model of Punto.I live in Kollam. Purchased it last april from Hyson motors thrissur.But the bumper painting was not proper and had black spots all over it.The manger in Hyson assured that they will get it painted any time I go back to thrissur again(it is a 5 hour drive for me from my home to reach there) . So I took the car and as expected the car performed really well on the road. Went for a couple of long drives and felt really awesome. I think in this way Fiat was preparing me for the worst experiences that were about to come.
I had move from my home town and gave the car to my parents to move around hoping they will have a nice time with the new car.After a couple of days they came back and stopped it infront of my house .After wards when they tried to start it simply wont start at all. Tried a few times failed and left the car idle for an hour and tried again …Surprise surprise ..it started as if nothing had happened… They took it to the nearest service station Kulathungal motors …They did some maintanence simply without understanding what the problem was and gave it informing that all problems are resolved …
After couple of days, this time when they went out to shop and parked the car outside a super market it refused to start again ..waited for one hour and tried again and the car behaved as normal and they took it back home. Then called u fiat service. They came to my home and towed the car again to kulathungal motors. Did some maintanence and gave it back.
Sadly every time this happens they call up the maintanence and by the time they come it would have started on its own.The best part about service is if you call up the helplines mentioned in the service booklet they will simply say we don’t take it and keep giving you mobile numbers of different people.If you call the tata dealership in kollam they say we only deal with tata and not with fiat service.But they sell fiat cars here and have parked brand new fiat cars in their show room. To find out some one who will come and look into your vehicle is like digging to find gold. Atleast 50 calls before that happens.

This same problem happened again and now We decided to take the car to HYSON motors thrissur from where it was purchased. They kept it there almost there for 2 weeks and also told that they will do the painting which was assured at the time of delivery. After 2 weeks(on first week of November) we go to pick the vehicle and they say the vehicle is perfect. But they simply didn’t do the painting. After wards when we had a verbal argument with them regarding this and as part of their excellent customer service they threatened to call the police.
But then when we told that we will call the media as well then they understood that mistake was in their part and they took the car did the painting in 2 hours and gave it back. Now the the obvious question that comes into my mind is “Didn’t they have 2 hours during the previous 2 weeks when the car was in their garage.”
Now hoping that every thing is resolved we take the car and come back. Drove it and the car performed as normal. On the 30 th of December the same thing happened again this time in the parking lot of a textile shop.This time the car refused to start after one hour and even after 5 hours and gave the service people first hand experience of what we went through. And after 50 calls( the same process of people giving different numbers) still they did not turn u and nobody was ready to take responsibility. Thanks to sincere effort by Mr Manoj(the only person who has spoken with some sense of responsibility) from Hyson Thrissur, after almost 5 hours the car was towed to Kulathungal in kollam and later from there to kulathungal Trivandrum.And the car is there now and I am waiting for an update which they wont give I am rather gonna ask them for an update.After which I will take it to Hyson and put it there. I have already spoken to them and told them that I don’t want this vehicle.
I am simply not gonna accept this vehicle as I feel it is a manufacturing defect which they are not able to identify. I have asked them to exchange it with the same model or with a different model and I have agreed to pay the price difference if it is a different model. If they don’t I will sell the car because I feel it is not sensible to keep this car as it definitely has some manufacturing defect.
I will have to start a campaign for this and then go ahead and advice people not to buy a Fiat as the service and customer relations is Pathetic. The interior quality is also bad . The only good thing is the looks and the engine which in this case was a failure again. If you buy it its your burden forever.Better buy some other car rather than buy a FIAT and SUFFER FOREVER
